Hi Fellas

Trackaction-Online is organising a drift day at Oulton on Saturday August 2nd. The tarmac rally stage 1 at Oulton is ideal for drift practice with it’s variety of tight and open curves and it’s special low friction polished surface that is designed to allow controlled sliding whilst minimising tyre wear. To ensure that everyone gets the best out of the day we have booked Terry Pankhurst as our instructor. As an ex-top level rally driver, Terry is well known for his drift control and as the creator and pilot of the awesome 500bhp Cosworth-Peugeot 206. He is also a regular instructor for MSV at their rally and drift schools so it’s fair to say that he can help drivers get the best out of their cars and the circuit!

The rate for the day is £140 but we can discount for groups of five or more - reducing the price to £120. This price would include the full days drifting for one car/driver, initial drivers briefing and ongoing instruction, and access to the main paddock, spectator areas and facilities for the driver and one passenger (there is a race meeting on that day, extra entrance tickets are £12).

Numbers are limited to ensure plenty of tracktime so if you fancy going please post below so we can sort some discount 8)

This will be a proper fun day out and the course suits the E30s perfectly so lets get a few beemers over there

If you need more tempting, this is a part of the course that we will be playing on.....

I was working there last week, instructing in the Caterhams - it's a great fun day out

UPDATE

We are now running this event on both stages at Oulton with the same limited number of drivers and at the same price so there's two different courses to drive and twice as much track time!

Stage 2 looks like this........(the tarmac bit winkeye )

Image
I was on the MSV drift day today. Wow! What an eye opener! I've learnt more about the Evo in one day than I have in 12 months!

Anyone in two minds about this - don't be! Better than any trackday (Nurburgring excluded! )
This quote is from one of the Evo guys who was there this week - the full thread is here http://www.lancerregister.com//showthread.php?t=207256 and the photo thread from when they did a sprint on stage 1 is here http://www.lancerregister.com/showthrea ... ton+sprint  . If those guys are getting that sideways with 4wd/TC/anti-everythingcontrol systems you can imagine how much fun this will be with a proper RWD car

I might be up for this looks like it might be fun, not really done any drifting before but have had the 325 sideways often enough at track days, could be a good opportunity to get some instruction and maybe learn some new stuff.

Went on a drift day on this stage at Oulton about a year ago - massive fun, really worth it!

I'm quiet new to the e30 scene, and not had much chance to have the old girl going sideways, and seen as there's an instructor and alot of room to play with, count me in!!!!

It would be rude not to, seen as I only live 30 mins away :D

Think your right about the style there Steve, hopefully this drift day will sort me out... and hopefully hold off enough temptation to keep my car as well!
