Anti roll bar bushes.....Steering rack bushes....Rear front wishbone bushes, it may sound bit silly but how does the knock actully sound, metal to metal knocking, and when do you get it? Do you feel it through the steering?

Jack it up and have a pry bar under the wishbone and lever up, you should see if there's movement in the roll bar bush. Poly bushes are great to tighten up the roll a little in cornering , if that's what you want then go for it.

Probably the exhaust loose in the front bracket. Why do people throw a shed load of parts (and cash) at a problem, instead of actually diagnosing the cause?
Leave the polybushes for the Corsa and Fiesta brigade.

Brake pads, calipers all secure?

Recently had this on mine where one of the pads springs came loose and rattled over bumps etc
Previously owned loads of old E30s, E34s, a few E36s, E32s, E39s and an E38.

Currently in a diesel Audi - miss me old E30's....
