Where are all the rust free cars...
Moderator: martauto
Is it possible to find one anynmore?
I've looked at so many and they're all rusty junk or even the cleaner ones need work to make them tidy.
Which places have the least rustiest examples?
Which cities have the most responsible owners regarding maintenance?
We must find these places...

Forgot to add: It's only a 4 door, so that tells against it.

tourings are often better. could be due to the owner type tho.

Plenty of rust free E30s out there! Most of them have five doors though.

Because most of the dozen or so I own, have been bought sight unseen, and only one; the only one with aftermarket wheels, red road springs and other tat, has been significantly rusty. Some of the others have the odd small hole in the usual places if you look hard enough, but nothing that can't be welded up in a couple of hours. Certainly none of the others are any where near being considered breakers.Loki_V2 wrote:How can you say that with such conviction!Brianmoooore wrote:Plenty of rust free E30s out there! ......and here,s another one. All freshly washed claybarred and waxed.

Not strictly %100 rustfree, but not bad for a 22 year old, and the tiny amount it has got is going to be rectified
very soon.

As said before, it's generally going to be tourings and 4-doors that are the least rusty - likely to have been cared for by 'mature' owners and repaired correctly if necessary.
Both of mine are pretty good, though both have had repairs around the rear of the front arches - bloody mudflaps!
One from the north and one from the south though, doesn't seem to be an area thing.

Having recently tried to hunt down a rust free example I can honestly say I wouldn't buy an E30 without at least expecting hidden rust if nothing obvious.
Once you start removing trim and carpets, like I've done actively hunting down rust, you'd be surpised what a dark brown area under the paint can turn into
