my tourer has just got a bit poorly. when starting from cold, is very hard ticking over and when i try and rev slighty it tries to die, mostly does die tho, when warm seems ok BUT now and then it will rev up and down by itself on tickover?? any suggestions? thanks

It probably has an air leak into the intake side of the engine.
Check out the large rubber hose between the air meter/filter and the throttle body for cracks and splits.

can also be the gasket gone on the intake manifold.
325i Tech 1 Touring, breaking.
