In the car park at work today just leaving to go to the next school and a parent passes comment on the car,he then stops and we chat a bit.He asked all about it what it had on it(m-tec 2wheel,g/knob and the pina's now)then come's round to WOULD I SELL HER
To this i said depends on what the offer is he came back with 2k Still said no done to much to her now to let her go
So this bring's me to the title. What are they worth as i would of made a good profit at that price.

Depends how much you love it!
I have spent too much time/money/effort on mine to let it go now.
Would you want another one if you sold it?
Would you find one in similar condition to yours with all the extras for that money?

So keep it.
You won't get another one in such good condition for Ԛ£2k.
I always make this mistake, sell my car, then can never find a decent replacement...
Mind you, half the fun is making a standard car your own by adding and modding to your tastes...

i tried to sell my SE twice and i couldnt bring myself to do it in the end. i just love her too much. okay, shes FAR from perfect with pin dents shagged injectors and a wrecked under-dash cowling, but i just cant do it. They say that when you find a woman and you can accept and like all her flaws, thats when you know shes the one... well, its sort of similar with my grey BMW.... i love her to bits, and if someone offered me 2k for her, id say no. a flat no. 2.5k, the answer would be the same. (we wont go into the possibility of "what if someone offered you 5k" because they wont, its as simple as that.)
My sport is another matter though. I dont love it in the same way that i love my grey one, even though shes almost minted again and my grey one is nowhere near! If someone offered me what ive spent on the sport, id sell it. I guess your first true love never really leaves you.

If someone offered me Ԛ£10k for my car I'd say no!
I don't think I'll ever sell it. I can't think of any other car for that sort of budget that I'd have so much fun in.

A couple of years ago, I was offered Ԛ£8.5K for mine. It was a guy that had a top of the range 7 series, outside of BMW Heathrow and he wanted my car for his wife. I just smiled and said thanks, but no thanks.
I love my little convertible. Okay she has no modifications and she is now 15 years old, and has a couple of rust spots that need sorting out, but she is just a dream to drive and now that she doesn't even do 1,000 miles a year, there is no point in selling her. She's paid for and doesn't cost me a penny, other than the yearly MOT and the insurance and the petrol. Nothing else to pay for.

Even if someone offered me what I've spent on my Sport (which is definitely in to 5 figures
), I'd never sell it because I basically created an E30 exactly as I wanted it and to do it again would take another 3 and half years and another 5 figure sum!!
And I could easily sell my track car for a profit, but its still got some kind of charm about it despite being a real bargain basement project
However I'm afraid to say that I will have to sell E30s for a profit in the future, but in my defence it will be my business, and rest assured I will have a nice collection of them for myself
Cheers,
Bryn.

I wouldnt sell mine for its approx market value, "maybe" for a silly price but even then id have to think about it. The "what the hell do i replace it with?" rings true for me too

im going to (and deserve to be) shot here, but i saw this E36 yesterday. It was silver, lowered about 30mm and had a set of Kahn alloys. Stainless exhaust with oval exit pipe and it actually looked nice.
It had none of those blacked out windows, no massive 6" zorst pipe, no "spaz power" stickers, it was just a simple e36 with subtle mods. leather inside and a tech 2 wheel and tech gearknob. everything else looked standard, and i actually thought for a few minutes "i wouldnt mind that car as an alternative for cruising the autobahns with less noise"
I dont know how i could drive 3 cars though, as i aint selling my SE, im not sellign the Sport, so that means i need 3 cars. (Note the emphasis is on the word NEED)
I know ive always faught the e30 is good(e36 is the dark side) arguement, but i see its merits, and, for the first time EVER, i can actually see myself in an e36.

Hmmm, that is pretty smart.
Reminds me of an e30 M3 with those arches!
Rather a standard m3 evo I think, for looks anyway.

well m8, it looks like you have got a lovely motor there. Difficult decision to make...E30WEZ wrote:WOULD I SELL HER

I'm sure tourers seem to make good money for well kept examples...if someone is actually prepared to make an offer over and above what u thought it was worth its a testimony to how well you have kept it!!

Thank you for your comment this has realy bugged me since it happened but met the guy outside the school again yesterday and he gave me his no.
said he would go a bit more if i wanted to sell. But i am not going to the thought of a profit is nice but were would i find one i like again when i looked at this one it was yer that's the one Love at first sight some would say and with a little work she is now just how I want it.If it went i would like a sport but that is higher insurance etc and i do have to sometimes carry bit's and piece's round to the schools so the touring is ideal, and still drift's as well i like snow
