Since fitting the M30, my car has gone from being quite low to being too low... I've got FK adjustable platform springs on the back so they'll match whatever, but I need a change on the front. I was intending to get the matching coilovers but now I'm just not sure they'll be worth it...
Another option is M3 aircon springs (as fitted to the B6S), but I've a feeling that may not be quite low enough. Anyone got a side-on pic of a standard B6S? Anyone know what was fitted to the B6 / H35 etc?
So does anyone have any recommendations for me? Pics of any M30'd cars (where you know what front springs are fitted!) would be great for ride-height ideas, & anyone's personal experience of what works would be much appreciated too.

I've just fitted some KW 60/40mm springs with Apex

shortened shocks, the back sits fine but the front is still to high... hopefully it'll settle down otherwise I'm back on the spring hunt.. I must say the ride quality is awesome, feels planted through corners and stiff enough without being harsh if you know what I mean??
Haven't got an piccies as yet as the batteries for my camera are on charge but first thing in the morning I'll go out and take some for you
If you don't mind me asking where did you get your adjustable rear spring perches from?

Old pic but the front springs are Spax E30 M3 and the rears are Spax saloon/touring, the Spax M3 rears were too low.
For me the front on mine is a tad too low, i want it 15-25mm higher, i keep a spare sump just incase !

Ziggy, i think we're on the same boat...i'm having some shoulder pain after some encounter in the heavy traffic..
One of the zoner advised me to fit LADA Springs..,but still searching for one.

kabeer, you sure you're not setting confused with Leda springs? i have leda coilovers on mine and finally can have the ride comfort and height i want.

possible a bit extreme though!

I think that sits perfect in the front, tad high in the rear. Still looks great though

Hmmm.
The springs that Alpina used on the B6S are still available from BMW, but not particularly cheaply... Still don't know what the B6 used though, or what shocks either used. Now contemplating standard m3 springs to match the m3 shocks, with lowering provided by the weight of the m30!
How low are yours supposed to be Andy?
I got my rear spring setup second hand - Geeman originally bought the whole kit but found the rears didn't go low enough for his track car, so sold them to Scott, & then on to me. Sorry, can't imagine that'll be very useful!

You could try Eibach lowering springs for an M30 engines E28. The springs are same diameter (same top mounts etc).

I would imagine aircon M3 springs (140lb) are the way to go. Usefully stiffer than stock and the weight of the M30 will make the front sit down okay. Too stiff will make the car scuttle shake like a bastard so I would go for B 4 Bilsteins in the front.

The H&R 35mm springs with this height. The S50 iirc weighs more than an M30 and mine has A/C as well!
Looks more like 50mm to me!

I think they were supossed to be -25mm for an M3, so probobly about 30-35mm with an M30 ?

I've 130kg / 125mm springs in the front and 120kg / 120mm in the back. Height, camber, toe adjustable at both ends. Bilstein sprint shocks.
Distance from wheel hub to arch 290mm both in the front and back.
edit: No worries whatsoever this far. I've been really happy with the setup, rear shocks need stiffening, though.
No idea what the total drop might be but there's about 70mm clearance in the front which is enough for me

erm, Mine's a bit lower than that on the same springs. I've almost worn through my RD splitter. Not good and not cheap!
