Are these prone to packing in? Im off to france soon so im replacing my brush pack as it is.

Has anyone had any bad experiences?

No they are very reliable but of course like any seviceable part can fail. The brushes should be evenly worn and have a minimum length of 5mm.

What is the alternator output voltage across the battery terminals? Too low a reading can indicate a faulty regulator/alternator and too high a reading can be an indication that the regulator itself is defective.

Dont know what the reading is as i cant find my multi meter :(

I havent been having any running issues...just good old preventitive maintenance.

Regulator/brush pack is normally ultra reliable, but it is a wearing part, and eventually wears out.
