i'm going,, do i get the pleasure of parking with over zoners???,

If I come, I want to be with the right stuff - E30zoners all the way
It's a shame that the £40.00 membership fee is a bit of a rip off for anyone that is in the London area, as their meets are in Kent. When do London meets end up in Kent? Surely Kent meets are in Kent and London in London, or as near to as possible.
I did join the BMWCCGB once and got nothing for my membership, simply nothing, unless this has changed. It was full of old farts that only brought their cars out of their garages for meets and didn't drive their cars for anything else. Or they had fairly new versions that were always being serviced by BMW technicians and not themselves.
I thought about joining again, but what do I actually get for my monies worth. I can get a good discount from any BMW dealership if I ask them nicely, so what do I get from joining the BMWCCGB and the E30zone has the best forum and website around. You just have to look at how many members we have against theirs.
I wish they had a membership that was as good as the VW Club of GB. Now that is a club. Hats off to VW Club.

For your membership fee you get, a monthly mag (which varies in quality but then so does Total / performance BMW etc.), you get access to insurance companies giving agreed value (via a valuation from the club) and discount (mines (170 pound a year, access to numeros track days (if thats your thing) to name just a few things.
With regards to meetings, a club is what YOU make it. Choose to sit or your arse and let everyone else do the work then you'll have to drive to where they meet. However, I'm sure the club would be only too happy for someone to organise a meet in london. If facr I think the club has a meet night at the ace.
£3.75 a month is hardly a lot of money IMO.
B7's Motto. "If it's French, BURN IT!!!!!!"
I agree that £3.75 a month is nothing, but the magazine, imho was not of that high quality, I would rather buy Total BMW magazine, which I know for a fact, will have more interesting articles. The BMWCCGB magazine used to only have articles on the separate branches of the club, which for me would be London and usually it wasn't very intresting.
The London meet you mention is at ACE Cafe. ACE Cafe do not mention anything about it being affiliated to the BMWCCGB. If this was the case, then surely it would not be the German night, but the BMWCCGB night and surely there would be a table reserved for BMWCCGB.
WRT insurance, I mentioned BMWCCGB to various well known insurance companies, other than Adrian Flux who are not that competitive when you mention insurance group 17 and a postcode of UB4 and they do not offer BMWCCGB any discount.
As you well know, I drive a convertible, I'm surely not going to be wanting to access to various track days, so what exactly does BMWCCGB actually give for £3.75 per month?
I think that BMWCCGB London branch is very lazy in itself. It is only the guy that organises it that lives in Kent, hence the Kent meets and they are surely not in London. There are various places that they could meet up in London and we are not naive enough to want them in Central London.
I know for a fact that the Bournemouth/Dorset branch of BMWCCGB is much better organised and has a far better turnout, mainly because they meet in the area that they are addressing, ie, Bournemouth, Wimborne, Dorset area.
I really would love to be a member of the BMWCCGB, but it hardly encourages anyone to become a London member. I know for a fact that I am not the only one that feels this way.
I would not consider myself lazy, after all I put many an hour into the production of the www.e30zone.co.uk. I was one of the orginators of the zone and a lot of what it looks like, in way of format etc is down to me, you only need to ask people and they will tell you, hence why I am always welcomed so warmly, so I know what goes into producing a club and running one.
If things were different and I could get an insurance quote of approximately £200 that was a real quote, then I would love to have a BMWCCGB sticker in pride and joy of my windscreen, but until things change, there is only space and that is for my e30zone sticker.

you go girl ! we are fairly new to the zone i say we i actually drive a ford but i will not be wearing the ford team fleece which i have seen this weekend at the pod.but i read and write on the forum as much as my husband.
i have already met lots of really nice people at events and i am looking forward to Gaydon ,Nottingham and the pod later this year. I have yet to meet only club members but have spoken to Neil on the phone and have a good understanding of the clubs opinion of zoners.
My father is one of those people who gets ripped of regular with BMW servicing, mot and parts and even he's not a club member.
we will be there at Gaydon and i will be wearing the zone t-shirt with pride surrounded by real people proudly displaying there e30's which they have spent vast amounts of time, money and love to be part of the celebration.
If it wasn't for the early e30's there wouldn't be a members club hold your heads up !!! Reggies Babe (Bev)

Its a shame there is rivalry/tension/friction between the E30zone and the BMWCC.
I'm looking forward to seeing you all at Gaydon. It would be lovely if we could have all the E30zone together, but that might embarass the car club.
As you can guess, I don't like to be ripped off with membership fees when I can come on here for free. Again, this was and is still, I think, the philosophy of the E30zone. Free to all E30 owners and enthusiasts (both).

We'll be there though, paving the way for the masses and waving both flags.bss325i wrote:Its a shame there is rivalry/tension/friction between the E30zone and the BMWCC.
I'll keep my nearside rear window up just to keep the zone logo on view.

I presume you are not going to Gaydon then?Dan318-is wrote:Thats because the BMWcc is shit and full of loosers barry. Harsh but true im afraid!bss325i wrote:Its a shame there is rivalry/tension/friction between the E30zone and the BMWCC.

I got my membership but really don't feel at home with the BMWCC. I now been to three E30zone meets and doing my 4th soon too and they are much more fun and I found you guys on here are much more knowledageable than the average BMWCC member. Also a bit of snobbery I found in the CC when it comes to E30's I found ( unless it's an M3 )

To show your car you need to be a BMWCC member. If you are then ring the head office and purchase a ticket and request an e30 show pass. Jobs a goodun.ah wrote:So whats the crack at Gaydon, do you need a special ticket to put your car in the show area,Ive not been before.
