I love the interior, one of the best I've seen from BMW. Looks clean and uncluttered. Also looks as though BMW has returned back to having the central console angled towards the driver.

There'll be far too many toys in it though.

That is awesome. Not quite sure what I'd do with one apart from polish it - but that is AWESOME.

It (and the current 7) just seem to bulbous (sp) i know they are big cars but that doesnt mean they have to look it (if that makes sense) The E38 is a very sleek car i think, not too tall or chubby...
On a similar theme i think the current XJ has gone the same way...just looks tubby when compared to a X300 or XJ40 (which were the same floor pan IIRC)

That's really dull. Doesn't have the sleekness of the E38 or the F*CK OFF!! presence of the E65, just another generic BMW design. The CS concept car is what it SHOULD look like. that's just nothingy, wouldn't cross the road to look at it.

Every body knows the true executive chariot amongst all incarnations of the 7 series is the E38 750IL !

Sadly those days are gone; you couldn't build the old 7 anymore. It would be too small for starters , and crash regs mean A/B/C pillars are very thick and doors taller for better side impact protection. Then there is the tech, which is unbelievable these days....if you compare it to an S Class or A8, it would be a tie between this and the Audi for me. Its a shame big execs don't look as good as they did in the E38s day though.Andyboy wrote:That's really dull. Agree about the CS, but I am sure this will look better in person. IMO like most modern BMs, in 'poverty' spec (Se not Sport, tiny wheels, tepid colour) it looks weak. You need the Sport, dark colour to hide the dodgy detailing, and sort the wheels... If you can get the E65 to look alright (miracle) I am sure this one can be helped. At least the Bangle influence is dying down...

Official Release : Way better than the outgoing car IMO?

i prefer the e38, much sharper image, more like an expensive suit, where as the new ones look designed for the american market

Hmm, that looks better. I had a load of info mailed from BMW Press Club and it's just techical overkill and BMW have a habit of releasing press pics of new cars in some dull grey. The silver gives it an edge.

Poo poo poo poo poo poo AGAIN!! Same rant different car. Any bulbously ugly big exec car can be made to look tough with big rims and dropped susp. Don't make it pretty though, just hard. Now the 750iL, proper gentlemans car lol

I must say, I LIKE IT !
front end much better than pre and post f/lift E65 ditto for the rear end treatment.
has a "family" look about it when compared to the revised 3/4/5 something its lacked til now IMHO.
