To me its seems a little overpriced, probably get slammed for that, but it just doesn't feel right to me.
There is another somewhere, ebay I think, in red and is a stunner. Less money too, although not converted by Birds I don't think.

Actually its not far off 'rocket' science, the average zoner would not be able to convert one.
I Cant see anyone converting one to RHD today without having to charge almost the cost of the car! IF they dont then they havnt converted it properly.

pretty sure it was only 25 that birds convertedMartC wrote:Didn't Birds do 50 'official' right hand conversions? Or have I just invented a random fact
yes - obivously a pedal box and a rack from rhd rack is needed but aprt from that you use the existing manifold which is manipulated to fit around the steering couplingDave_M3 wrote:Is the exhaust manifold not the only really tricky bit though???
i was going to do this myself with an old project and researched it extensively. i even spoke with Nigel in Moseleys who confirmed that this is what Birds did

Ha not the only ticky bit? Come on! Everything needs to be stripped of the car everything! (except the engine and gearbox and windows/doors/pannels) The whole car loom is totaly different so you end up taking the car down to a shell.
Anyone who thinks this is an easy job or has researched it needs to research a lot more! No doubt you can bodge it to RHD but a Birds RHD car is 100% RHD!

Birds conversions had the wipers changed for RHD and the door mirrors and the door locks and wiring and the carpet unlike lots of back yard bodge ups. All UK cars had side marker lights fitted in the normal place as required by law so either the lachs turd has had a pair of wings or the seller is using Birds name to legitimise his bodge up with LHD wipers !

I thought about this too and re-read the ad. I think the car was sold new in Germany, then improted privatly into the UK where someone got Birds to do the conversion, hence the side wipers and side repeater blunders, but having said this it still "feels" wrong and I wouldn't touch it - unless it was very cheapy cheappacerpete wrote:All UK cars had side marker lights fitted in the normal place as required by law so either the lachs turd has had a pair of wings or the seller is using Birds name to legitimise his bodge up with LHD wipers !

I understand that if guys want a RHD M3 because of where we are, but it seam a lot of hassle for the benefits, or not as the case may be, ruining the steering and brakes, might as well put an S14 in a 325 would be easier and would get the same effect.
But like Sheps said i wouldnt go near it

More than its worth the hassel, id rather leave it alone, this way the M3 looks more authentic knowing that all M3`s came in LHD..
