E30 S50 RHD PERFORMANCE EXHAUST MANIFOLD

Hey guys......

I work for Racing Dynamics and was discussing with our Exhaust Fabricator about producing an Exhaust Manifold to fit the an RHD E30 with the S50 / S52.

I've looked into who sells them and can only find BTB who sells a modified OEM part.

I couldn't see a price, does anyone know what they sell it for??

Does anyone else know of any other Manifolds available for these conversions?

What price range would people be willing to pay for the manifold if I were to produce it?


This would be a Private Production, nothing to do with Racing Dynamics. But the quality would be the same high standard.


Any comments or thoughts would be great.

Mine cost around £1200 iirc.

No one else that I know of makes them and you'd be better starting a thread in the group buy forum, that's where the BTB one's came from.

I wouldnt think there is much of a market for these as the conversion is not too common because the S50 engine's are worth more than most E30's on here

I'm sure "Jhonno" is currently using the modified BTB on his M50 until the S50 is ready. If that's the case then surely the "Fritz Bitz" manifold for the M50/52 would fit the S50 ? I think they are approx £800

Well you certainly can use the BTB S50 manifold on the M50, but without trying it it might not be possible to use friyz's the other way.. The heads are wider on the S50 hence the BTB manifold is pulled further away from the steering coupling. Without seeing the fritz's manifold I can't say if they'd allow for movement the other way. Plus the exhaust ports of an S50 are MASSIVE compared to the M50. I would imagine a manifold designed properly for the M50 would have primaries 0.5" smaller (without doing any calcs). Putting bigger primaries from an S50 manifold on an M50 isn't exactly ideal either mind.

Would you keep the primaries the same size as the S50 pipes?

I have a supercharger on mine and need bigger diameter.

no more than for the same displacement, well tuned N/A engine! Oversize primaries will just rob you of torque.

If the primaries are designed for streetable torque on a NA then at the topend they would be a hinderance if using a centrifugal.

Fritz's bits make a manifold for the M50/ M52 and the S50 not sure of the price but this has been
developed by Mr Random dave himself and has tried and tested dyno results.
fully available from Fritzs bits and A-Tech.

Thanks for the enquiry, our stainless manifold for your conversion consists of 40mm tracks, converging in to collectors with a 50mm exit. They cost £700 and are constructed from 304 stainless.

I was looking at using 47mm primaries or possibly the next size up beeing 51mm
