Thanks or the comments guys.
Still a long way to go with it yet....
fit new wings with no side repeaters
replace dented bonnet
replace scabby N/S door
replace rear valance
colour code the bumpers
and then paint.
Mechanically its pretty much sorted but ive used an M20 gearbox with the M50 and im really not happy with the fit although it does drive and feel nice so will be replacing with an M42 box soon.

I absolutely love that car. Love the smooth rear boot - no 3 series badge and no spoiler.
Side-repeater-delete will be a nice touch.

Have you got a photo of a car on the wheels you're talking about?

The car is required to be fitted with side repeaters by law and would also fail a MOT without them due to the age of the car.

Unless the mirrors have built in side repeaters like the newer M3 after market mirrors you can buy, then it is still legal to remove the side repeaters from the wings.

Side repeaters have already been moved to the front bumper in preperation for the new wings

Yes as it is post 1st April 1986 it
must have side repeaters and hazards fitted.
NATDJ is right - they can be fitted into the mirror so long as they meet all the angles of view requirements. This seems to be the current fashion - Merc, BMW, VW, Skoda etc etc.
