If you sell all the pina bits off to people who want them for viable projects,
then all your left with is a shell!
END OF!!!
Do what ya like with it!
Some of you guys should club together and start one of those charitys
like the ones who look after endaged animals! you know the ones like the
WWF but do it for cars! You obviously got the passion for it, all you need
is some goverment backing and your away!
This is for all those people who think im scum cause i didn't put a genuin
BMW air fikter in my M3!
ITS MINE AND I'LL DO WHAT THE FUCK I LIKE WITH IT!!!
Same applys to the already dead Alpina killers!

It's only the 'stick-on' bits that made this car special anyway. Sell the wheels, lump and badges, and what have you got left...? a primer'd 323 shell... whoopee!
Fuk it. Track it.

all i've read is 2 pages of sh!te. When there are 5 left and they are worth 6-7k u would regret it.
A good C1 to me has to be 3k.
Look at this way would u butcher a C2 of similar age? No so why would do it to a rarer C1?

My folks have been over from aus and i've had to pretend to be a good son and heir, i think i've pulled it off and am hopefully still in the will !.. Unfortunately my mum has cleaned the place up and i can't find my antiscrap medication, i've just bought a '92 golf rivage (ravaged) cabriolet alas some scumbag has 'chawed da leathers 'but it was Ԛ£250 and has only done 44000 miles!. It gets worse! i'm off to buy a triumph TR7 convertible tomorrow it is that funky green and not rusty and more importantly it is Ԛ£500 . If any one has any spare antiscrap tablets please contact me as i also have my eye on a '78 lincoln mark V (20 foot of bad taste, fake stitching and opera windows and an 8 track player !). Or am i normal ?

Fuks sake... I'm feeling ill just reading that last post... I feel sick. Any American car that's over 19' is deemed bad taste...
Mind you, we're on about 'bad taste Pete' here, so anything worth money goes...
Edit: Was drunk... completely forgot you mentioned a TR7 as well... good luck with that! Has it got both headlights working, or does it wink at you?

I'm with the "cars already fudged, so what the........?" brigade.
OK, so it's got the plaque and the wheels. Other than that it's yet another almost dead E30. The guys are keeping it alive, where's the crime in that? If the seller couldn't get any interest in it as a resto then no-one who was looking thought it worth chucking loads of wedge at. So what would he have done with it if these two "saviours" hadn't come along? Probably scrap it, I suspect.
Which is the lesser of the two evils? Surely it's better to keep it rolling in some way.

If this hypothetical C2 was in the same condition as the existant C1, it would make no difference. An awful lot of people wouldn't see the point in chucking mega-wedge at it.Simon13 wrote:Look at this way would u butcher a C2 of similar age? No so why would do it to a rarer C1?
Would this debate have run for so long if the car in question was a Hartge or Schnitzer? Maybe there's too much snobbery surrounding Alpinas in general.

i have just read this whole thread and find it amusing...
first of all its chaos's car. he won it on ebay if i am correct. there must have been others bidding on it and some must have been enthusiasts, so why didnt they fork out to save it. cos they thought it wouldnt be worth it!!!! which its not.
i understand si's point and do agree that its a real shame to see such a rear car die... but it was already in that condition from abuse by the previous owner. if chaos had bought a mint alpina and tracked it yeah then have a go but he aint. everyone is looking out for number one, iam you are and chaos is. if he spent thousands on it and sold it for a loss now that would be silly.
as for buying a car and selling it off to make money... whats wrong with that. if you think its overpriced dont buy it!! is that not what traders do!! fuckin hell thats what the bloody manufacturers do. can you really say any vehicle is worth its price when its in a showroom, but why do people buy them cos they can afford it. everyone is looking to make profit.
there is also nowt wrong with selling bits off to fund other projects... well there is nothing wrong with selling them just to make money. we all need it.
plus chaos has said if anyone is willing to save it make him an offer, but no one has offered sensible money, so why slag him off. if your really that cut up about it buy it off him and save it. i would if i had the cash but i dont.. so its up to them what they do with it.

I've been reading this to, I saw this too late as I thought it ended later!!!
However I would have bought it to restore it back to it's C1 2.3 spec. (that was my intention) These were the unloved e30's from the Alpina range, and therefore not many having been sold before the C2 came along. Just wished I'd taken notice of the finish time!
So if you decide to sell on, drop me a line!
Lastly, I know many people that have purchased a perfectly good car and then stripped it for the track, so to buy a car in need of attention is probably the best thing to, however I wouldn't have done it to this one!
My opinion only though, hope you enjoy what ever you do with it!
