Hello, I was wondering if somebody from the zone can help me.

Im trying to find some ice white paint, which my car left the factory with.

Ive tried most places and i can only find Alpine white, which is useless on mine as the colour is too creamy.

I want to do my bumpers like in the pic I photoshopped of my car, I think it will look good once its done.

"yes I made the lights darker and dechromed the kidney grill and a few other bits in photoshop also, I guess its how id like it"

What will I need to do to paint plastics....kind or primers etc?

I have sprayed before just not plastics.

Thanks for your replys in advance, Nice day today a few e30's buzzing around kent as i was too earlier!!!!

Even odder - lists both of those colours for the same code 317.

There was a version of the E12 available in South Africa in Ice White - paint code was 346 according to the M registry website

yeah its odd like chris said, on that site it comes up with this:-

BMW ORIENT BLUE PEARL 317 1994 1998 METALLIC
BMW ICE WHITE 317 1984 2000 SOLID

Same code, different colours by the sound of it, but they could be the same ? .

What do you think?

Thanks! e30topless.

Might explain why the engine bay sticker is in English and not German...

thats odd 2 same paint codes? ask for 317 and hope you get white ! I think it's a S'african colour after reading a bit more if all else fails take off the petrol flap and get some paint colour matched to it (providing the flap hasn't faded more than the car )

Here we go. Checked Everett's book and Ice White was an available colour for SA cars - at least for the 333i!

Don't mean to be rude, but you should never match paint by the fuel filler flap - it's the most polluted part of the paintwork.

your right it's was a trick I used to do on newer cars, years ago when i worked in a garage it was easier than taking a door or a wing to the paint suppliers
