diff ratio

what diff ratio do i need to give me a longer 1st gear and slightly
higher top speed on my 88 320??

Plastic bumper 320i's had a 4.10 diff from the factory, a 3.91 or 3.73 will give more top speed and longer gears but as the ratio gets lower the acceleration suffers too.

I had a 3.64 for a while but is a bit low for my liking.

cheers mate looks like a 3.73 might be a better bet
