Dirty alloys?

Carplan wonder wheels....this stuff is the dogs, not very often that i recommend anything but this stuff is good...cleaned my Alpinas up a treat.

12 quid for a bottle which does 4 wheels twice each and still a drop left.

that carplan stuff is good and fairly cheap aswel.

It is good stuff for an occasioanl use, it is very acidic so not suitable for rims with any kind of damage to the surface

I use Bilberry wheel cleaner. £20 plus vat for 5ltrs, Mix it 5:1 and it's strong enough to take even the most stubborn dirt off.

I may be doing a group buy on some of this soon, 500ml bottles so people can try it without trying a whole 5ltrs worth.

i used to use autoglym wheel cleaner until i compared one to my unused , uncleaned spare alloy . that was still bright and fresh compared to the used ones that had discoloured yellow with the cleaner. id not noticed it happening over time until i matched and compared.

Agreed, very acidic.

Once I had my wheels refubished I used a tip from dave and used Chemical Guys wheel guard. Now I dont need to use something as agressive as the brake dust and other contaminats just wash off.

just hot soapy water and a stiff brush to get between the spokes. since i went to black wheels its a lot less bother and seem to be easier to keep clean as long as i do them more regularly so the brake dust doesnt bake on solid.
