What are your 0-60 times?
Moderator: martauto
Hi guys
This afternoon i was trying out my 0-60 times (probably a bit sad i know lol!). The method i used wasnt particularly accurate (passenger with a stopwatch) but good enough for a bit of fun and a rough-ish figure!!!
Basically i averaged my time to 7 seconds. My car has a 325 engine with 320 gearbox and 320 4:10 diff.
Just wondered what figures other people have achieved with which particular engine and running gear...
Cheers

I had a 4.10 in my 328i for a while. That was fun, if somewhat pointless. Either at idle or 6.5k

6.52 on a G-tech with the old baby piss turbo on, now somewhere in the 5's, did a 0-100 in about 10/11secs this morning! And I didn't rev it out in any gear, I keep getting paranoid about it popping.......must grow some bigger balls soon. We started 5 cars back in the queue waiting to get onto the A14 and by the time I changed into 5th the cars behind were gone, certainly got the adrenaline flowing before work.
I'll try get a pic of the datalog up, will show the revs and boost and you can work out the speed against revs and gears, I'm running a std box and 3.73 diff on 16's.

I think some of the zoners stopwatches are a bit keen here
A Hartge H35 does 0.62 in 6.2 seconds and a H28 does it in 7 secs as per the brochure. Also as Maxfield mentions the M3 is about 7 secs too.

More like dogey speedo readings. 66mph on the dash is a true 60mph. Most cars would need a change into third to get that
The cars on my drive I reckon would do it roughly in:
200sx turbo 270bhp - 5.7+ seconds
subaru turbo 4x4 215bhp -6.0 seconds Probably less if you were brutal with the clutch, but seeing as its on its way out...
mi16 205 - 6.5 upwards
iS- 9.5 upwards I think. Needs third
A 325i can't do it in 7 seconds!

I think if i get the stopwatch out and give it a go now should get to 60 just before sunday lunch time!
M20B25 actually
a "technical data" website i saw stated the 325i as 0-60 in 7.2 seconds and an E30 M3 in about 6.5 i think
take it as the 325 has lost a bit over time it should be 7.5 to 8 shouldnt it?
cant be hard for someone on here to find the official BMW stats?
eitherway none of it matters lol, its not about how you get there its how much you enjoy the ride on the way and how good you look
0-60 times are for people with seriously modified cars or seriously fast ones i reckon?

Is your M60 standard?oze30 wrote:Ive timed mine with a gps and stop watch and it's roughly hi 5 with a 3.15 diff. A 3.9 diff as it strands now is roughly 5.5 ish, but I can't get the traction down!

It is meaningless to ask; which is real, 'real' or imaginary? It is simply a matter of which is the more useful description

Factory time i guess, 9.5 ish seconds, maby slightly better with that stupid short diff... Enough to wipe the smirk of a fiesta zetec-s drivers face up a hill anyway
Not that i condone this kind of thing but he was revving his engine like a tit and had his GF in the car....

Im not really bothered about 0-60 its more in gear times/overtaking im interesting in.
The auto does not really lend itself to 0-60, but double kick down once its in the zone really helps to dispatch a few cars.

not about to try, tbh. I've been followed most of the way home by the polis a few times in the past couple months... and I drive like a granny most of the time!
erm... my gran was originally an emergency ambulance driver, so I wouldn't exactly say she's slow, even now!
I would guess in the region of 10sec, and speedos are not the most accurate of things. According to pretty accurate GPS, mine reads about 35mph at an actual 30mph, so at 60mph... ?? I would guess most peoples' are similarly out as required by law.
