Hi, Does anyone know how to fix a couple of cracks on the lower valance. i have tried a guy who does plastic welding but that did not work it just burned it. any help would be appreciated.

is that valance fibreglass? if it is you wont be able to plastic weld it. your best bet would be reinforce the back of it with a fibreglass repair kit i would think

Is it fibreglass? its a oem valance. Does anyone know what its made of?

not sure exactly what its made of but its not fibreglass. Im sure someone will tell you what its made of.

I once filled a badly cracked valance with superglue :o
It worked perfectly though. I drilled a hole at the end of the crack and superglued it together. I drove with it on the car for a few months and it didnt crack again or show any signs that it might.

I think it's made out of ABS plastic. ABS can be reconstituted and as strong as original by simply welding more ABS to it.

To make an ABS "glue", cut up pieces of ABS and mix that in with acetone or the chemical MEK. The pieces will melt and turn into a sludge. That sludge can be applied to the crack and will weld the pieces together. You can get cans of the sludge as well as it's sold to weld ABS plastic plumbing pipes together too.
