Hi,I was wondering if anyone has done a 5 stud conversion using other model BMW bits.Such a job is featured on the German E30 site.Due to the language conversion ,I can't fully follow it.He uses rear trailing arms and hub from a E36 325ti ? and on the front E36 strut and M3 hub?.He ends up with bigger brakes and 5 studs.Any how sounds like a good project.Richard

if you can find the parts then its a good mod to do as the 5 stud wheels are far better

Great to know someone is interested for 5 lugs conversion...

Basically, what you need is...

-E36 Front Suspension but use the E30 Absorber top mounting.
-Better to have e36 bilstein yellow + sport spring + E30 Bilstein sport top mounting... slight thinner and your car will looks lslightly or marybe maintain the height....

-Customade an eye ball arm,(somethin like lolipop holding the lower arm)
-Get the Z3 or E36ti rear arm, disc, caliper. Its direct fit onto the e30.
-Get new set of hand brake cable.
-Steel braided hoses are recommended for more efficiency brake.
-Carry out bleeding after conversion.

Hope this help....
Regards,
kinaka

Thanks for the info.Which model E36 front strut should you use to give the best braking performance for the price ?I think the German conversion used 300mm E46 discs. What hand brake cable do you buy?

Would an e34 setup not fit? as it shares so much mechanically with the e30???
