Also, you can't have a gangster car thats only a 2 door. Imagine the embarrassment of running to the "wheels" after a "job" and having to hold the doors/seats for each other

Well said Toby....toby wrote:I like 4 door E30s yours looks great Clive. The colour coded door handles really suit it.
I don't think the prices between 4 doors and 2 doors vary that much in reality.
Also with one of your gear gaitors fitted it'll fetch a premium price....
Precisley Morat thats the main reson for a 4 dr we're all gangsters ...

4 doors are about as desirable as Gary Glitter is to an 8 year old Thai boy.
Tourings FTW.

If I was gonna get a track car, that's exactly what I'd do, stiffen it up a bit and you don't get stung lashing out for a 'coupe'doggydoo2000 wrote:Buy a 4 door & weld em up!

It's all bang for your buck anyway, I doubt I would have got a 2dr or a touring or a 325 in the same nick as mine for what I paid. My E30 represents cheap reliable motoring with a bit of style, it's a whole different game when you're spending thousands on a car - not better or worse, just different. Plus I look a bit out of the ordinary in an 'old duffer's car' and that makes me smile.
I reckon 10 years down the line all e30s will be regarded as classics. 4drs will probably still be the cheapest, but they'll find their place in the market naturally. Also, a lot of people get into old motors because of nostalgia, and it was 4dr e30s that populated the streets of my youth, dunno about anyone else!

When you get to a red light with a car full off people you all have to get out run round the car and get back in different seats other than the driver who has to go back to his seat before the lights change to greenCar-Nut wrote:Excuse me but * I tried to use text speak but the text speak filter stopped me * this chinese traffic lightsliquid-24 wrote:

I'd weigh any car in too, if it was a heap and a rustbucket, so don't take it personally

No didnt take anything you said personally, nothing to take personally.
Just entering into the good humour of things so to speak.
If you ever get any early chromies that have fallen victim to the dreaded tin worm let me know, always on the look out for bits and pieces here or there, dont really know what you do, someting in the motor industry me thinks dont want to assume anything

I will prob weigh mine in later in the year, saves searching for the parts I want to keep, A/C, Recaros, M3 diff, suspension/brakes etc
My 2 door will be getting the nice bits, the leftovers will be sold/weighed
Unless of course any of you lot want to part with 4K for an Alpine white 4 door

If the bodyshell is sound and rustless and really nice condition, you might well get £100-£150 for it. Worth it to someone who's doing the same, taking nice bits from a bad shell. And even if you get slightly less money than from weighing it in, its surely worth it to keep another E30 going?
If its a rustheap, then fair play.

Simple, a touring has all the alleged advantages enjoyed by 4 doors but it is not ugly / With the rear seats folded will take loads of crap / All tourings have decent suspension and 4 wheel discs / Tourings are seldom rotten / Tourings have a resale value
