Does anyone know where the engine oil sensor is located on the M20 323i engine so I can check it out?

I know my Oil sensor is lying to me cos the OBC light has just started coming on even though the dipstick says otherwise!!
Does anyone know where the engine oil sensor is located on the M20 323i engine so I can check it out?

Near the alternator / power steer pump, at front left side of engine, down in the sump... near the dipstick

Mines unplugged, for some reason it kept nearly catching fire to the wire, when plugged in, so unplugged it and haven't looked at it anymore!! (BTW I have a bit of black tape over the bulb!!!!!!!)k130 wrote:Cheers, I can picture it now...

Sounds like you have a dodgy connection on your engine earth strap,ask Brian Moore about it as he found the problem on one of his cars.Wilson wrote:

That is unreal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bloody hell, I'm gonna repair the burnt wire and refit it!!!
Well happy now.... and I didn;t even ask for that advise!!!
