Guys,

Un-E30 related I know but my other half has a red MX5 and the paintwork has gone very matt and almost pink in places, I'm guessign this is oxidisation?

Am I right and if so, what's the best way of getting it back to a lovely bright red shine :D

Just get the T-cut (or an alternative) out, apply some elbow grease, & don't forget to use a decent polish afterwards, or you'll be doing it again in a couple of weeks! :thumb:

Where'd you get that from Johnono?

I would like to recommend Meguairs 3 Stage process. It worked for me.

matey from the autopaint shop gets it for the work he does, says its about 20 squid,

ill get a product name and number and put it up tomoz. this stuff is good. i used it on my door handles to get rid of the Ԛ´milkynessԚ´ of the colour and they came up a treat, but it also takes of a bit of paint though so working an area for too long isԚ´nt advised

p.s there is about a good liter, mabey more in a bottle, and its heavy stuff

a company called Farécla produce a range of rubbing compounds and give them all g ratings for their abrasiveness.

g3 is what they call 'regular grade'
g10 is extra fine.

these are the only 2 i own - i just looked at them so unless i have freak bottles they're accurate.

a little care is required when using them on painted surfaces - keep checking the cloth for paint deposits and they have to be followed with a good polish.
