Hey folks

After missing out on a set of MHW smoked rear lights on here the other day I have to say I'm getting desperate for them now. The car is getting fully painted next week and the standard rear lights just arent going to cut the mustard.

I did a search for MHW on eBay and google and naff all comes up.

So what are my options? I dont want a DIY spray job on the normal lamps as this is going to look a little naff in my book.

I have seen these rear lights on eBay

Image

But I'm not sure they are going to look to chav. They definetly look better in my view than the full clear crystal style but I'm having trouble finding good quality pictures of E30's sporting them to get a better idea of how they look on the car.

On another note if anyone is reading this thinking 'hey I have a set of MK1 pre facelift smoked rear lights for sale' please drop me a line!!!

Them lights are disgusting.

If you spray them properly, they will look sweet.

Or you could put tights over them :D

lol i knew when I posted them smoked lexarse lights people would get on me back lol. I'm not one of the chav brigade let me assure you but this is how desperate I'm getting for smoked rear lights.

I'm really not to keen on the self sprayed tint jobs. I know you can get a reasonable finish I'm just not sure on the final appearence at the end of it all.

you can get a good finish, T-cut the lenses first, then spray very light coates letting it dry between coates.

when your happy with the colour T-cut again untill smooth/shiney.

job done :D

If you get a spray can and do them but don't like them, you've only lost £7 or so on a can of spray, so might be worth a try anyway!

I think for me its down to the fact that you can still quite clearly see the amber and red of the standard lights underneath. I think if I was pushed to paint my current lights I would tint the amber indicator red as thats not a bad look to go with?

Also thanks for the links ---alpina--- but theres nothing there for me by the looks of things :(

Fair enough, I know what you mean.

It is the cheaper option, but it's not like the real ones, I'll admit that! :)

Chav, and so is spray tinting them.

As has been said, be patient, and wait for some more to come up for sale.

German e-bay is the best place to look.

steve after seeing them I'm quite interested. Dont suppose you know if the lenses themselves have any cracks or star bursts that the smoked tint is hiding do you?

I can see them once 2 pack laquered looking fairly sweet?

If you can drop me a PM with further details on the condition, cost, etc I would appreciate it.

Thanks for the efforts guys. Its good to see there is a supplier for them new but at £200 + P+P and possibily the VAT
