injector trouble?

when am in 5th doin say 35 (nt very often!) and i but the foot down a bit it sounds like the tappets are getting allot louder but am sure its the injectors does this mean there blocked?

It might be a leak on your exhaust manifold gasket/flange. Is it more of a ticking or clicking?

i would say its more clickey than tickey lol

youll probably find its pinking (pre ignition) because you are labouring the engine and it aint very healthy for the lump mate can cause hot spots on the pistons if you do it for a long time and could (at worst) even melt a hole in the crown of the piston

dont try to hammer the engine from low revs in a high gear m8

but what actually causes it cos the engine is quite quiet for an m20 and pulls ok, nt that clued up wit engines learnin lol

it just means you are trying to drive the engine too hard in too high a gear youll pick things up as you go along a loads ( if not all ) people on here are always willing to help and give advice

its just wierd how my mtek 1 sport didnt do this and this one does! if it was more of a ticking what would u suggest then? as i may have discribed the noise wrong 2 ya lol!

Mmmmm, yeah, really wouldn't wanna drive in 5th below about 40mph, and then if I wanted to accelerate I'd drop a cog or two.

My experience of engines labouring is that they whole car shakes quite violently, so you'd notice it if it was that!

the car dosen't shake though it just sort of amplifys tappet/injectors?
