More realistic on the size side of things, not many modern diesels swap that I know of have been done. I'd love to see a 335d... although lhd might be required for the turbos?

Yes, 335d conversion into an E30 would be a nice to see

any decent diesel conversion would be good to see 320d,330d engine anything like that with a chip would make a nice quick e30 and maybe yo would nt have to sell your liver and kidneys to fuel it :)

For a minute yesterday I thought it would be a good idea to buy a 540i touring manual and smoke about in that. Seeing as it was only an extra £100 to insure it for 6 months thats left on my policy.

Then I thought about fuel
Then I thought about maintenance

Then I came to my senses 8) Phew.

thought about it, but there's not much room for them. Unless you ditch all the ancillaries and mount them there, OR mount them out of the bonnet. Distance between the head and inner arch, about 4 inches if your lucky. Not much room! Not even for a blower! (rotrex will mount next to the lights, but the bracket will need modifying as there's no room. Eaton will work if you remote mount it and feed it like the rotrex, it won't fit on top (plastic manifold) ) not many options! Wait one- twin blower as used with th eM5 conversions can be done, mounted under the car in front of the sump. but THAT costs BIG bickies!!

It was on autotrader. £750 with only 1 previous owner. calypso red. full history and only 120K. all MOTS etc, probably some poor doctor has spent 10-15k on maintaining it 8O It had no mention of current T+T. Alas when I phoned him up, it had sold. The temptation subsided. Phew!
