Right, need to buy the goodies to do the cambelt change on my car.

Rang the stealers out of interest
Ԛ£17.00 + Vat for belt :?
Ԛ£40 odd + Vat for tensioner :eek:

Just looked at GSF Catalogue and:

Ԛ£7 for belt :)
Ԛ£10 for tensioner :D

Now i'm all for a bargain :banana: , but is it a case of you gets what you pays for here? I'd rather not skimp if there really is a difference

Hi Lee, Same spec tensioner no diference there, cambelt usually OE spec also, dont bother with main dealers for these parts, give me a call if you need any info, Cheers Dave

Cool - that means i can get the belt, tensioner & water pump for about the price of the tensioner at the stealers!

No probs Lee, if your ever stuck, you can allways get timing belt, water pump from Motor factors in York, there quite reasonable price wise,Dave

Not to give it a blast no, just get it out each day to pick wife up from work!Got a few jobs of my own to do on it soon has ive got time, painting house at the mo to keep her indoors quite , then ill get stuck into the car, you did well blowing the clio off mate rapid little motors them!

yeah i was quite surprised with the clio too, it was just a quick sprint near monks cross from the roundabout near needhams up to the roundabout near asda/sainsburys. I honestly expected him to be past me, think I did get on the gas first.

I agree though, they are rapid little motors, that's what my mate who had the beemer before me got in it's place.

There's a couple of other Carinas the same colour as yours running around york with the plates on, keep thinking it's you. Caught you the other morning on Walmgate
