PRESENT.....

Now to the latest project, this was all standard, bought the car with the Tech 2 kit on, had a blown engine, so put a 2.5 in it, then slowly slowly started putting it together. All the bits on it at the moment was bought by me and put together, took forever to find most of the parts, bearing in mind ive had this car around 2 years, but bought most of the bits over the years and kept them until i was ready.

The car came with standard sport cloth seats, standard BBS alloys, well to break it down, heres a list of what ive done to it so far:-

- Changed the carpet to the dark charcoal colour one
- Put Eibach ARB
- Put Original smoked headlights
- Got the rears sprayed red, professionally of course
- Put the Original BMW "Recaro's" seats, in black leather.
- Put the M3 rear seats in.
- Got some new alloys for it, well Borbet A's- 9j all around.
- Also got the M3 tacho instrument
- Got Wilwood 310mm kit on
- So now had to change the alloys as the brakes didnt fit under the Borbets, will get pics soon of the latest ones on there, nothing WOW but will do for the moment.
- Got another set of alloys also but that will be reveiled later, when i get other things done to it.

mmmm cant think of whatelse there was, at the moment but will update all in good time.....

Just remember...

- Got some leather door handles(well front only)
- Got a leather center console
- Got some leather handles that go just above the window, cant remember what they are called.

Yeah loads of issues, on my silver car i got the arches rolled out, and was alright until 3 people sat in the back, then it started rubbing, and yes 9J all around. The Calypso red, at the moment ive just hammered the arches out, but now ive changed my wheels it looks stupied cos theres a massive gap between the tyres and the arch.

Changed the location of my Graphic EQ, was in the center console before as you can see from the pics at the start of thread, but since i was putting my leather console, didnt want to ruin it, so put the EQ up here. This meant had to change the location of the switches that go there.
Hopefully you can notice where the switches have been moved.....

Here's my leather console, along with the gear gaitor, handbrake grip...

Oh here's my Brand new All-in-one Illuminated gear knob...

So i thought i'd update this....

Since then i bought myself a brand new all in one illuminated gearknob from the stealer themselves....

Image

Well after a few weeks of putting this in, i blew my bottom end up whilst coming back from Guildford meet with a few fellow zoners....so i decided to change the engine over, so started to take it apart....

Image

Image

Image

Image

heres with all the supercharger bits out...

Image

then after this started to take the 6 branch and then the engine out..

Sorry for the limited pictures, its just that in the middle of this, i somehow managed to lose my camera so couldnt take anymore pictures, so i just carried on taking it apart.

Well after all this was done, and before putting the next engine back in, i started thinking, as this was going to be my proper project and i wanted to do it properly, which meant i was going to get it resprayed and get it all freshened up, which meant spending quite alot of money on it, ie: getting it sprayed, getting all the engine sorted out properly, and a few other little touches here and there.

I started to speak to a few people, and the conclusion was that after spending all this money would i be able to get some if not most of my money back, as afterall not many people here like 4 doors.

So I decided to break this and buy something else which would have more of a chance to sell and look better, so i bought myself a touring...

Well i bought a 316 as it had a clean shell, ie:no major rust etc, but was just a basic model, after a little more thinking as well as seeing another for sale with the tech 2 kit minus the tech 2 rear spoiler, from a zoner(which i was told got stolen, but then a few months later magic-ly appeared for sale on here, a bit of an coincident that it was exactly the same colour  mmm ), also had heated leather seats, oh also didnt have the tech2 mirror (reading light one) and the tech2 steering wheel. OOkay, bitching over.

So i changed the carpet to a dark charcoal greyish colour, which took a while as i thought i might as well put all my wiring in for my speakers and amps etc, put my tech 2 steering wheel, mirror(reading light one), got some MHW smoked read lights for it, gave it a good autoglym treatment, didnt come up as well as i expected but thats down to the shitty paint job that was done on previous to me owning it. Will get this sorted next year sometime...

Image

Image

Image

So as i started to take this one apart to swap bits from my Calypso red one, ie:carpets, sound system.

After a few weeks, i got bored again, as this was an 2.5 switchable auto, i didnt want to do it as it drove pretty well but i decided to change it to manual , not really an auto person, but this one was a good drive.
So i decided to start taking this one apart too, i started off by taking the engine, exhaust, propshaft, gearbox, and the whole switchable loom, which was a proper bastard, anyone whose done this properly will know, it involves taking most of the inside apart, so now im left with the car back to bits again. Thought i'd start the conversion 1st, and do the inside later on, just incase i come up with some other bright ideas which involved me taking it apart again.

At the moment ive got 2 engines, im going to keep the engine that was in there as it was a really really tight engine in my opinion anyway, and use my other engine that ive kept from one of my other ones, as im going to put the charger back on, but this time, get an intercooler system done for it, get it the mechanical part sorted out properly first so that its running how it should be, as it was drinking too much petrol before. Then recycle most of the parts from my other car onto this.

Whilst it was sitting there, waiting to collect my parts for the maual conversion, i made a start on the underneath of it, started by changing the standard ARB to eibach ones, got some lowered H&R Cup springs, bilstein dampers and front struts with some lowering springs, also he hooked me up with some grooved discs (thanks for that) from MrDazzle, which i managed to put on, just need the rear droplinks for it though. Will have to see if how this will sit once the rest of its back together, hopefully it will look ok, as it sitting nicely from the rear at the moment.

Havent put the wilwoods on yet, going to see how good the discs on there are once i start driving it, then maybe ill change them at the later stage, as ill have to bleed the system cos ive got the Goodridge braided hose pipes on the other legs and will have to do the rears too, which i'll do all together.

So at the moment its just sat outside, as im waiting to get a few bits for my manual conversion. Now the weathers changed, it doesnt look like its going to be finished any time soon

Did have another camera which i took pictures the engine and the rest of the car being taken apart, but again ive managed to lose my F'in pictures.

Will update when i make a start on it or when i remember something else that ive not written....

Well sometime last year blew my engine up, racing someone on here...hint(he likes "chrome")since then ive stripped my 4 door calypso red 325,heres the link(http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... 8&start=25)
bought a few more e30's but ended up buying a 2 door 320 shitter. But at the time i didnt know it was that bad, well bought on the guys description, and he dropped it off. Only started to find out how bad it was once i started to take it apart.

Well it needs new rear arches, as usual, front passenger side wing needs spraying, few other bits and as it was a 320, that had to be changed.

Since having bought the car, thought id stick with otherwise i'd never make a start, plus i was hoping to take it up the strip at Santapod, but failed.

I replaced the whole rear subframe, replaced the bushes(Thanks to Barry) put a 3.25 lsd on it, which i think was the most annoying thing to do by yourself, as the bushes got stuck in the body and i was there for ages trying to burn/hammer/chisel them out, also the bolts got rounded off, the brake lines wouldnt come out.

Well heres a small list of what ive been doing since....

-Put the 325 engine in,
-Changed all the bushes,
-put the eibach ARB's on,
-BTB 6 branch on,
-Wilwood 310mm brakes,
-Supercharger on,
-Replaced the all the brake pipes with Goodridge braided ones
-got some lowered H&R Cup springs, bilstein dampers and front struts with some lowering springs from MrDazzle,
-Polybushes on the front wishbones
-Full stainless steel Exhaust system on

So after all this i got it started 2 days before Santapod, but when i took it for a quick drive, started to smell burning, once i got back home, i opened the bonnet and the fuse holder along with the fuse for the Fan/radiator, melted, on top of this petrol started to piss out near the fuel filter. So i just parked it back up, and didnt have enough time to sort it out by Sunday.

So today i went out and started back on it, after about 6/7 hours later managed to sort the fuel leak out, and so far the radiator/fan wires been fine. Well drove the car up and down the road quickly, seemed fine, a few little noises here and there, saw some oil leaking somewhere but that will get sorted
soon(ish), oh and theres a annoying sqeaky noise from one of the belts i think, which needs sorting out too.

But did manage to loose the back end, well didnt mean to but it did, enjoyed the few minutes of driving it, since its been off road for some time. I was well annoyed as i so badly wanted to take it on the strip, but me being me(a lazy so and so),it took me over a year to sort it out, as i kind of lost interest for some time, plus it gets annoying when you have to do all this by yourself.

well heres a few pics, the car hasnt been washed for nearly a year now, since its just been sitting there....
