I have finally decided that I'm going to put a sub & amp in my car and replace the front components for something a little nicer.

I currently have FLI 5.25" components in the front, FLI 6.5" spekers in the rear shelf (someone has butchered the card part of the shelf and enlarged the hole in the metal shelf, Twat!) Both are running off of a Pioneer DEH-65BT head unit.

I'm planning on using some Infinity reference 5.25" components in the front and ditch the rear speakers replacing the shelf with an unmolested item.

Sub wise I'm going with a Infinity perfect 12 sub powered by one of their mono amps, I have had this set up with the previous generation of amps and was chuffed with it.

What I was planning was to make a baffle that runs the width of the boot and have all the audio hidden behind that, So I need to find a sub box that mounts the sub on the angled face. Any suggestions?

And I also need some carpet that matches the original boot carpet? :?

You thought of Hertz components for the front ?
Mr Cliffybabe recommended them to me ... very, very pleased with them.

I just bought a jbl sub amp etc for the 316 that is to be my sons car and noticed that if i turn the sub box round the wrong way and put the sub in the back of the box the box angle just about perfectly matches the bulkhead angle behind the rear seats, it would make less work maybe buying two sub enclosures joining them then just making filler panels for the gaps left and right and covering in carpet, no more having to work out volumes etc :D

hmm very nice idea with the infinity gear. Pitty you cannot really get kappa perfect 5.25 in the front because of the magnet. But the Inifinity Kappa's with there new ferrofluid magnets are simply awesome and man can those play low for what they are.

As for Perfect 12.1, i would now from first hand experience look else where. If you want to only have the presence of the lower frequency range. then by all means get the kappa perfect. If you want to fill the lower frequency and also be able to turn it up some what. I would highly recommend RE Audio RE8". It there entry level sub. Get 2 having a full ohm load of 1ohm or 4 ohm, and building around 0.5ft3 sealed or 1ft3 ported with a 4 inch port at 200mm long. You will not only have much less weight but you will have a better sound Bass system and you can literally play any kind of music. They keep up with just about anything on the market.
