Just wondering, realistically how light you can get a 4 door 325?
And relly looking for some opinons!!
Ive got a LHD black face lift 325 that i would like to strip down to see how light I can get it and what difference it would make to the performance.
The thing is is a very good car not a hint of rust and its sport spec apart from all the silly pla´stic bits!
Is it worth ripping it apart?
And would it be worth itß
Im looking at plexi glass windows Fibre glass boot lid wings bonnet ect, im not going to go too mad but want to make it as light as possible, anyone done it?
How light?

Blimey! What on earth's left?!Card wrote:I have a M3 E30 which without driver weights about 995Kgs but it is very stripped out took a lot to get it to that weight.
Not a lot, inside total stripped all doors internal striped plastic side windows and rear windows no seals or electrics smaller fuel tank, sunroof ripped put and cf sheet in it place light weight bumper boot and bonnet.
It races in Kumho (my old man races it) so we need to be light.
The car in my sig the white one is mine that without driver is 1020kgs i think and still has glass windows all round and electirc windows in it so that would get it down to the same but i weight more than him so don't need to lose the weight

995kgs, thats very good, is that still with oem doors and metal front wings. so with fibreglass panels all round it could be less. would be nice if youve got any more pics of it. thanks.
The doors are standard M3 E30 doors with all the internal ripped out and plastic windows.
The front wings are standard evo sport metal wings (evo so we can get the car lower) have thought of putting plastic front wingon, but in Kumho it all power to weight and we would have to carry even more lead than we already do.
The only picture i have are of it racing not close up except some of the white one (1020kgs being built).
Inside the race car

Another of inside

Both the cars testing

You cannot tell really from the pictyures sorry.
Black car 995kgs and the white one 102kgs (Approx) but to run in Kumho we are under weight and have to bolt lead in it unfortunatly.
