Hello,

Well i am now running out of ideas to get this sparking, recently put the M30 engine in my 320i, all engine loom and ecu plugged up apart from 3 connectors by the ECU that don't have homes, 1 white and 2 black ones. I've livened up the ones that as far as i can tell should be live.

I got power at the coil positive, fuel going in where it should, and turns over but feel like i'm missing a power/earth somewhere as blower not working (put the gr/bk to the starter)

Any ideas what i can check will be very appreciated, please help me start this! Trying to use the haynes manual wiring diagrams but it's not helping out much really,

Cheers,
Shaun.

Excellent, cheers for another great link! You really are a master of the web pages! That haynes manual is a joke, not even worth wiping the grease off my hands with!

Cheers mate,

Shaun.

It could be a number of things, not necessarily incorect wiring.

Although, is there a spark at the spark plug?

I've found the M30 engine to be a little prone to flooding after a lot of cranking / starting and stopping when cold.

The crank sensor should be around 1.0mm (and no more than that) away from the big trigger wheel by the front pulley.

Are the fuel hoses on the correct way round, the feed goes to the opposite end of the fuel rail to the pressure regulator.

Good luck! :)

Cheers for your help,

I've got no spark at the plug, and fuel pipes correct, bit stumped at the moment trying to figure it out,

By the ECU are there any other modules/relays/etc. because i got three plugs from the old car with nowhere to go:

plug 1 (white coloured), wire colours:-

red
green/black
grey/black
Blue/black

plug 2 (black coloured), wire colours:-

Brown
green/white
green/brown

plug 3 (black coloured), wire colours:-

Brown (linking to above plug)
Brown.

i've also got 3 wires cut:

green/violet off the fuel pump relay with on gn/vi going into the loom, the other gn/vi spliting of into a red/yellow and a white blue cable which go no where (cut) although fuel is getting into the engine...

the other is another green violet fused and changing colour to violet/black going no where (cut),

I'm just trying to chase these now but if anyone has over come this or knows what i've done wrong please help, its startin to drive me

Cheers for all your help,

Shaun.
