spec so far.

Full rebuild

oring block, 8:1 with je forged pistons, welded head, 12.9 head bolts, ppf valve springs, polished crank, large front mount intercooler, 750cc injectors.

3.91 lsd and standard gearbox with a Spec stage 3 6paddle clutch

Turbo or manifold not yet sourced but i'm aiming to use a 666 fabrication manifold and some sort of holset hx35 or hx40.

Thats about as far as the engine has got, the touring shell has been resprayed and im currently rebuilding it with roll cage etc so the engine can be finished.

I have lots of photos but will start my own thread when i think the readers will be interested enough.

The project is already 1 year late  but im limited by time and money(as is every one)

Hi

I bought th 12.9 grade bolts as the first item, i was going for a 'sneak' style setup.

However i got a little carried away and decided that if i was going to do it i would do it properly and get lots of power.

I probably will get some arp studs, do you think i should?

Cheers

hey thanks man !

im not sure what the 0-60 time will be this year.. but last year with the "standard" 2,5 engine i run 1bar of boost and did hit 0-160kmh in around 7 sec

this year its gonna be over 2 bars of boost and 2,7L engine instead

but im not sure.. i can get back to you when i run the first strip run

Looking good, hopefully this year I can dyno mine and see a few hundred ponies too.

Max boost so far is 1.3 bar and I'm running 0.8 every day.

The spec list is very impressive, I must work harder to earn more cash to buy more parts!

nice :)

0.8 for everyday cruiser is nice !!

what compression ratio do you run? i would say that if you run 1.5-1.7 you would get around 450-500hp "in a 2.5 with 8.1-8.2 compression ratio"

Stock 8.8-1, fresh head, stock gasket, non-stretch bolts.

I think my injectors will limit me to 1.3bar until I raise the FP to 4 or 5 bar, then 1.5/1.7 bar will be aimed for, although after ARP studs, 618 and LSD fitted.

Been having issues with my coil pack, have a new one arriving today, hopefully I'll be back for the weekend!

Well done, this project looks fantastic. You should bring it over to the UK and have a go at Santa Pod or Ten of the Best!

Hey Sean !! i did even look in germany but the bmw storage in germany is all out to.. so i did make my own.. i just wanted to straight the camber on the rear wheels.. and with those e34 bolts it was possible to make it adjustable. now i just made it in one possition.

as ju can se here :)

hey.. the et drag is a tire without any "water channels" and are a bit wider the the et street is..

on the et street the actual size of the tire that touches the ground isent 10.5 its a little bit less..

but on the et drag it is 10.5 but then the tire structure is a bit wider then 10.5

i would say if you are allowed to drive with the et drag then widen those fenders and put an 10.5 et drag on.. you will gain more grip then the et street..

im driving the car on public roads sometimes with et tires so the et streets are better for that use.

Btw.. The et street is an dot approved tire.. so if dot works in you country then you are street legal :D

here in sweden there is an european stamp so dot doesent do much here.

okay.. for the drag tire the rims need to be wider

here are the specifications for et drag and et strett

http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/stri ... tem=ETDrag

http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/stri ... m=ETStreet

i have the - 3752 26X10.50-15LT 20 M5 9553 8 10.5 8.3 26.1 82

and they recomend 8" rim for this tire.. but i had only 7 and it worked great..
