E30 engine con anyone?.

That isn't that cheap either. Keep looking around and you'll find cheaper. I was offered a late 3.0 ltr non evo 1995 M3 coupe in Avus blue and later Vadar trim for a less than 3 grand a couple of weeks ago, with less than the magic 100k on the clock too..
Get them while they are cheap. Certainly if the E30 M3 is anything to go by, I can remember being offered a reasonably new E30 M3 for £4000 in the mid nineties.

The E36 seems to have price checks in chunks, they seem to go along happily and then drop and then carry on for a while and do the same again later on. There is also the seasonal thing to consider with convertibles.
There has always been the E36 M3 Evo on an N plate for £6000, well for at least the last two years so don't fret.
All this talk of economic doom and gloom is getting the better of peoples' better nature. I actually heard a survey result today that said the worst is nearly over (for a change - something good in the media about the economy), that the house prices were plateaued (a radio 4 word) and that all the undesireables were fecking off home across the water. So the future is looking rosy!

I was only fretting because my E30 might hear me contemplating a dirty E36!
Oh, & the house prices can go down for about a year please - decided not to buy until then!

E30 in need of wiring loom smoke since April '11...
E36's are okay you know, It's not a sin to own an E30 and covet an E36. Nor is it frowned upon to own both. It's not like supporting spurs and Man Utd at the same timeZiggy wrote:I was only fretting because my E30 might hear me contemplating a dirty E36!![]()

Yep, these E36 M3's, especially the 3ltr's have been around the £3-4k mark for ages now. I've even seen tidy 3.2s for £5k also.
E46 M3's are getting as low as £10k now too

E30 M3 Unichip Alpha N style conversions, this is the ultimate for extracting the best out of your S14 M power car.

A mate of mine had a violet 3.0 M3 Coupe last year - a nice tidy car with a full engine rebuild and £3000. Makes 325i Sports look a bit pricey but E36's in general are on a downward spiral. A good E36 is a very good car. Trouble is there aren't many good ones left. Most are shagged out with tired trim, wanked lower balljoints, shuddery electric windows plus whatever Council Ebay tat owners think looks good.
I had a Laogoon green 320i 4 door manual on a J plate last year. I did loads to it - new Bilstein B-4's all round on M Technoc Coupe springs, all new balljoints and trailing arm bushes, an M Tech 11 steering wheel plus a mint interior from Davenotouring's written off N plater and sorted window regulators. That was such a nice car to drive.
Early E46's with some leg are down to a couple of grand now as well.

shit thats allot of car for the money!
An E46 M3 for £10k is a bargain, I paid nearly forty grand for mine and it was a hell of a car. A bit boring/bland in the end if I'm honest but a definite loony chariot indeed. It was a car for a headcase that likes gadgets and poor TV reception
I am no shrinking violet when it comes to stumping up at the dealer parts desk but this new stuff from E46 onwards makes me shudder with all this Can Bus boloney. Even my K1200S has Can-Bus wiring with EWS key security - yikes. I know I've gone on about this before so sorry if this is boring but ffs does the enigne really need to know the status of the rear light clusters? Of course not.
I have said it before and I will say it again, the smart money would buy an early 94/95 non evo M3. That's where the growth will start in the E36 range again.

Gareth... funny you should post that... I've been looking at replacements for the A8, and an E36 M3 non-Evo was one of the contenders.
Looking to spend about £5000 (once the A8 goes) on a decent daily runner.

I would still go for a e30 M3 any day , I beliave there were 50 right hand drives M3 E30's made and I seen a few pop up ( geniunie not convertions ) . Let face it the e36 M3 does have a bit of a stigma with being owned by tossers who know nothing about cars ect.
black E30 M3 , BBS rims with black and red leather inside, nothing can be better for an M3 ( possibly the one from Need for speed
)

BMW did not build a right hand drive E30 M3, end of story. They didn't built 50, they didn't build 1.Felix79 wrote:I would still go for a e30 M3 any day , I beliave there were 50 right hand drives M3 E30's made and I seen a few pop up ( geniunie not convertions )
E30 M3's are okay but they are now old cars with old car issues like rust, rust, and more rust. The E36 is faster and is a very useable thing. Most owners wouldn't want an E30 M3 either. They are okay if you like that sort of thing but having had one, I've no desire to own one again.
