I've just check e-bay and the auction for Dale's car has ended without a single bid
The bidding started at Ԛ£7k, which i think is more than fair for a car that has cost Ԛ£15k to build. It just goes to show that you can spend a fortune modding your car to your to the max, but you wont always get much more for it when you come to sell it. I hope he gets good money for it eventually or even better still, decides to break it and sells me all his goodies

it's a right downer trying to sell are car that you've spent so much money modifying... I've been there before and lost a fortune!!
Thats why I'm reluctant to spend so much now!
Are you talking about the red one with black bonnet and M3 engine??? I'd love that!!!

The problem is, I know loads of people want it, but the price is out of most peoples range. How many people do you know with Ԛ£8k, Ԛ£9k to spend on a E30? That's why sometime i have sleepless nights about mine cause the money i've spent on it, i could have had a E46 M3 cab, or bought a new BM, gone on holiday, gone shopping and still have some change left over. That's why i sometimes wish i'd taken up the offer of Ԛ£25k that someone made me
Saying all that, most things i do in my life is necessary. I work to pay the mortgage, bills, this, that and bla, bla, bla. My car is the one single treat that i have for me and me alone. That's why i will fight tooth and nail and do everything i have to do not to have to sell it, unless someone offers me good money that i can replace her with of course

in my opinion (on this forum thats the line u say so u dont get flamed
) if that was a standard sport with a perfect body+interior then I reckon there woulda been at least 1 bid.

I had been talking to Dale about buying his engine from him, apparently he was going to replace it with an even meatier one, but he's gone quiet lately...
Is there something I should know!

I think i was pretty fortunate to sell mine, altho i still made a small loss.
Also i was at exactly the point where id have to be brave to spend more as i probably woudlnt have got it back (air con, suspension, leather retrim maybe etc) and decided to call it a day there

Yes I knew he was changing his lump, and I was supposed to be huying the old one... but he's gone quiet lately. So does he not have a the spare engine for sale any more?yeah he has joined the world of bikes like me, i will be speaking to him later in the week,
Agree with you about the "world of bikes" mate - cars just don;t compare, but sadly it can often be a short stay in that world... Old Hogweed first broke his neck hitting a tree on a Triumph Trident somewhere around 80-90 in 1974, then got badly smashed up in Lahndan on a GSXR1100 (unrestricted of course...) by a Japanese diplomat's wife in 1987... carried on for a couple of years, but I'd lost my bottle really, which is why I now chug around in tin boxes...

I think Dale went away for a while and was meant to come back on the 19th or something.
Andyp, i still want that seat belt mate. I've just been too busy to come down and pick it up.
