Hi everybody,
Ive inherited my dads 318 and i washed it today as it was pretty dirty and saw that there was bubbling under the paint on one of the arches about the size of a penny, there are also some stonechips and just nicks in the paintwork that have started to rust as well, also some idiot keyed the bonnet and the boot pretty deep and theyve started to rust too...
Should i sand it down and then put some paint then lacquer to stop it?
Also the car hasnt been started for about half a year so i was wondering if i could just start it again or do i need to put fresh oil in the engine to lubricate it again?
Thanks for the help!

I would reccomend a service including air/ fuel filters, spark plugs new oil and filter also renew the coolant if you can just to make sure any cr*p that may have settled is washed clean.
As for the scratches it depends on the sevarity for deep marks i usually take it down to the bare metal, fill, sand, prime and paint. Their are plenty of rust treatments also.
*edit" Just noticed you said half a year not 1 and a half, depending if you know when the last service was its still worth a full service easy to do
