Need help with my new motor guys! Engine management light stays on after replacing all 4 o2 sensors??????? :x

who told you to replace all the lambda sensors? were the fault memories cleared?

well ive noticed that all the sensors look brand new, the fault codes were cleared and the light still came up??

Does it have a egr valve ??
Clean it out , Usually brings the same codes up if i remember correctly :)

yep your right matey, they do bring up the same codes. but the E46's dont have em !

the EML light and the Engine Management Light will illuminate for any reason, when the DME detects something running out of a set parameter

This could be, for instance, the MAF detects X amount of entering the engine, the Pre-Cat Lambda detects Y amount of burnt mix leaving, and the Post-Cat Lambda should expect to see Z amount of mix. If these dont match within a tolerance, the light will be brought as a fault will be logged

When the light is illuminated, the DME runs off of a preset value, which is completely safe, so as not to destroy the engine and to get you to dealers safely

You could have an air leak, a cam sensor gone down, an underactive injector, wrong fuel pressure, blocked cat... the list goes on

Take it to a dealers and ask them to quick test it. Should only cost about £10

^^^ Cheers fella, good points raised... the funny thing is, after having cleared the same a code a few times, its now stayed off for a few days??? problem hopefully sorted!..
