Tips for removing the fuel-side rear trailing arm please!

Hi People,

Having failed to get my exhaust side hub/axle to separate I took the whole trailing arm off with the help of a large nutgun.

I did this as I have spare new bushes for them and I can take it to a garage to press the axle out for me..
Then the site locked me out for a bit, which is now sorted but I have another problem on the car:

On the fuel filler side however access is stumped by the filler tube - so guys - how did you get the 19mm/M12 trailing arm bolts undone?

Undo the subfame/rear diff mount bolts and see if it gets you a bit more clearance ?

Quite - drop the beam on that side. Only way that will leave you sane.

I managed to get them out with a 19mm spanner and a ratchet with 19 socket and a small pipe. Removed the rubber filler pipe from the tank. It was a pita but got them out in about half hour. Think i somehow wedged the spanner on the nearest one.

if the subframe bushes have been on there for a while, they're not going to want to come out in a hurry. one of mine snapped before finally giving up!

That's a good plan - thanks guys. I'll see how amiable the sub-frame mount is on that side, else it's filler pipe removal...

I was a bit worried about having to buy a new rubber filler pipe if it didn't seal well afterwards, but if the tank fitting is not too 'sticky-outy' then the nut-gun could get in there and at least deal with that (took about 3 seconds once locked onto the other side where there was space...)

I also thought about a nut splitter in there, but I haven't got one for the 19mm nut so it's a bit academic, sadly lacking of my toolbox Has anyone used for this (cue possible trip to shops)?
