Hi guys,
Great site by the way. I am a long term BMW owner, having gone through e36, couple of e46 and e28 m535 so settle now on an Alpina B3S for the daily grind and a nice e30 325 for fun. First bit of fun for the e30 will be a trip to the ring at the end of June.
She is currently riding on Eibachs with some disgraceful wheels which will be replaced by some 15" BBS when I find them. Just really looking for some info on brake setups from you experts - what would you recommend?
Cheers,
Elliot

Guess I should add the previous owners have done some work already on the car, 2.7 conversion, Schrick cam etc. apparently now running approx 220bhp (not verified but it did pull very well).
Main problem I had when driving it was the brakes just felt dead. No stopping power really so until I get the wheels off and take a good look I want to prepare for ripping out the old cr@p and putting in some decent stoppers.
Been looking at EBC discs & pads but not sure if I really want to spend over £300 on it

I'm doing a 325i for street and track.
This thread contains what I did for brakes. I think it represents a good bang for buck upgrade.

Where are you located? I have some 15" BBS with slightly used (two trackdays and about 100 miles road) Goodyear eagle F1 GSD3's fitted, that would be fine for track usage.
I had been using them with spacers on my E21, but now have two sets of 15" with the right offset. Wheels are OK, and have BBS cantres. Tyres are good with plenty of tread, outer shoulders on the left side got a good melting at Croft in July, so a bit worn down, but not problematically.
I was going to swap the tyres onto my Alpina reps for the E21, but shifting them on for somewhere near the cost of new tyres would do me nicely. It'd cost me £12 a wheel to swap the tyres over anyway. If you are anywhere North West way, give me a shout.

Thanks for the replies guys, some nice work and good info there Ade. Which master cylinder did you use? Did you do the work yourself?
Jim - I'm based in Bromley, normally travel quite a bit around the UK but no plans to venture up North (in the car anyway) for the moment, but thanks for the offer anyway.
The rims I have are Compomotive MLxxxx (not sure which exactly). Look great on a Mk1 Escort but IMHO look gash on an e30. They will be going in an ad on here or on fleabay very, very soon.

E32 master cylinder. It's a well know mod.Straight bolt on for a ABS equipped E30. Non ABS cars need a T-piece made up.
Here's some info on the thinking behind the fitting of the BMC.:

I'm a bit disabled so unfortunately I cannot really do much work on my car. I can only research what I want and then pay my mechanic to do it.

Thanks Ade, my car has ABS but it has been disconnected by the last owner, have to look into whether or not I need a T-piece.
You have the excuse of being slightly disabled for not working on your car, I on the other hand am just terrible at doing anything remotely complex when it comes to mechanics!
Cheers,
E
