I've just got my first 2 E30s. Whereabouts are you? I'm in Dartford. If i don't have to work i might see you there and if i like what i see i'll get my 323i sorted as a track day car. What car have you got?

Yep, i'll def do that. Is your car road legal or do you tow it?
I'll be on your case as to how i get my 323i to track day spec!

Well hurry up and get it back together then!
They have loads of sessions on a Weds this year so don't forget to post when you've booked one.
Brands is in the ideal location for you isn't it - how far from yours.. 20mins/half hour?

Mine was already done when I bought it.
Has OMP cage which fits nicely however the knob on the lights switch had to removed as it fouled on the cage.
DOH! Using mates laptop - actually posted by Furbster!!!!

Well that was a good laugh, really enjoyed that. Fell off at Paddock though, had the choice of falling into the gravel or the infield so went for the infield.
Drove my mates diesel Seat FR thing too, don't understand front drive thingies, was up on three wheels or falling off so gave up with that.
Other than that, quite a well run day without too many stopages.

Yeah, It was a good laugh... traffic was a bitch getting there though.
The E30 performed pretty well for it's first track outing (under my ownership) I managed to stay off the green stuff and pointing in the right direction but I want to uprate the brakes.. I'm not used to the spongey feel and lack of bite (was better towards end of session as I got used to it but could be much much better).
Any suggestions guys? They are currently standard calipers running braded hoses, grooved discs, EBC Greenstuff Pads and ATE Superblue Racing Fluid.
JagsB - I saw your motor but never seemed to parked up at the same time as me to come say hi!

The EBC greenshite would be your problem. I used them once on my E30 many years ago at a track day. They fell apart!
Braided hoses, discs and Superblue is the right way to go. I've always used Ferodo DS3000 pads, but some people prefer Pagid pads as they've suffered problems with brake vibration with the Ferodo pads. But I've never had a problem.
Didn't stay in the pits too long as we had limited track time, gotta make the most of it.

Thanks for the advice JagsB.
I also have a set of EBC Redstuff which I haven't put on as I drive to the curcuit and I know they don't work to well under normal road conditions... Do you think they would be any better for the track or would you just say buy the Ferodos?

My advice, if it says EBC on the box bin it. But that's my advice and I've tried all of their compounds!
If you're about this weekend, we're racing at Brands hatch this weekend in the Kumho. Come say hello at the BMSPORT.COM camp, won't be able to miss us as we've got 4 Grey and Orange BMW's with bmsport.com plastered all over them and we can have a natter.
Now can we have some sunshine for the weekend please.....................

Cheers for that but I'm at the Foo Fighters Gig at Wembley on Sat and have a christening on Sun!
Good luck, and stay off the green stuff!
