i currently use plastx from meguires works pretty well and if you get the sticky bit each side on the inside of the window it removes that with ease :cool:

renovo....and Ian the sticky stuff is usually where the back of the frame has touched the perspex and left a bit of lubricant on it..at least it is on mine what could it be on yours................................Image

I mostly get the sticky stuff on my seats after a sat night down the local Mac d's with the ladies but now i have a special blanket lol :D

i use autoglem super resin polish yes its not a mistake u can use it.

i no someone who has used duraglit on there window and it made it like new :roll:

I am using autoglym Fast Glass, that seems to clear it ok and it is non abrasive

I get this sticky patch on my convertible window as well. On a serious note what's it from ? I have stopped the roof to look in the storage area when its going down but cant figure it out :eek:

Never tried this but I think its either my Bentley manual or the E30 restoration bible that recomends a heat gun on a low heat will remove all scratches and give a clear appearance, the logic is understandable, very littly melting the surface scratches etc.... I'm going to try it for sure.

hi i have renovo on my cab window i would say it did do something made it a bit better. but i think its something you have to do quite regular and i dont think youl ever get it like brand new just better you know:) hope that helps.

I have (had) this problem too , not a sticky patch, more like a hazing even after having cleaned the window with the Porsche convertible window cleaner that I use (its the business btw) and then folding the hood. Believe it comes from the folded window rubbing on the (rough) carpet that is in the hood storage area.

Before folding the top I now place a soft towel against the carpet so that the window rubs on that instead. Has worked for me.
