Hey guys well I finally just put ITB's on my m20 monday, it's a home built setup but even without being fine tuned the power is amazing. Any ways I'm running megasquirt, in Hybrid Alpha-N mode. My spark map needs a good bit of work, that is the one thing I don't know how to tune very well yet, fuel and everything else is a piece of cake. I've gotten my AFR's in a decent range, but can hear the exhaust spit and sputter like the advance is way off. Does anybody out there have a good msq file for a M20 running Alpha-N instead of MAP based? Or a file of an ITB'd car would be even better. Just looking for a good spark map to go off.

Are you running a standard engine?

When its all put together I will be running alpha n. Ant is the man to talk to about it though as he's building it. I'm sure once its mapped he'll be able to help you out rs4pro3.fozzymonster wrote:Mine are all MAP based, IIRC Ant maybe able to help, Oakey don't you run ALPHA N?
My spark map is no where near finished and wouldn't be any use anyway as it's set up for 21psi![]()
Fozz
My engine will be running 38mm tbs and a 289 cat cam.
Are you running the standard cam, head etc?

It´s hard to build a map that suits alpha-n out of the blue.
Why don´t you build a vacuum chamber?
you must have some logs before the ITB´s install?
can you cross reference the same pulsewidths?
As that will be the same load assuming same AFR and will require the same ignition advance.
In any case a dyno is the ideal way.

I have a vacuum chamber under the throttles, but even so the resolution sucks. It only leaves me about 40 kpa of usable area to work with.
Ya I have tons of logs and files pre ITB's and tried on of those spark maps but it dosn't work that great.

but what if you adjust the ranges on the Y axis.
as well as using 16x14
adjust so that the most part of the Y axis is where you are most around 40-80kpa,
there is going to be little difference in values above 80kpa and below 40kpa
I already posted on the other forum about this.

That's my current spark map, I know it's way off hence why I'm asking.
Even with my vacuum chamber the map sensor values pulse all over the place. I could adjust the Y axis but then if I do put my supercharger on I'll have to adjust it back. But right now I'm debating if I will or not as the power is way to nice as it is.
