Electric window wires

When operating the windows, should both wires be getting power at the motor end? i.e. they operate by reversing polarity?

I ask because both motors seem to have failed simultaneously. Entirely possible though, they've been dodgy for a while.

Yes.

Try fuse 17 first, especially if the electric sunroof, if you have one, also does not work.

What I mean is, I'm getting power through both the wires when operating the switches - if that's correct then fair enough, it must be the motors.
