after stripping the car, i have this 323i engine 2 sort owt now. i am looking at possibly a 320i which i know also uses a 6 pot engine (i think you call it an m20?)
now does this mean i won't need to swap the loom as the engine is the same type? i still have the old loom, ecu, ect. but to be honest if i can get away with replacing the loom, then it will be a lot easier surely?
any info appreciated
cheers
engine swap?

I'll have a stab
you HAD a 323 and kept the engine, and are now looking to purchase a 320i and thinking of swopping the M20B23 into the space where the M20B20 used to live ????
If the car is post sept 87 and packing plastic bumpers, then you'll need to swop all the loom, inlet etc accross and then rechip to suit the new capacity
HTH ???

i think it makes sense. wot i was thinking was obviously leaving the loom in place in the 320, removing the engine, replacing the 2 litre with the 2.3, and replacing the ecu with the one that goes with the 2.3 lump, if that is any better???
