hi guys just posting a few pics of my 635,that my dads just passed down to me,needs a little work doing to it, he's had it for 19 years, he driven less than 5000 miles in it since owning it,i had to take the front bumper off as it would not get down the small drive, the paint is still great after all those years in the garage, the sixer's been painted pearllesant blue, needs a bit of a polish, ill post some more pics when the bumpers back on, hope you guys like it,

its done about 87000 on the original clocks, but i had to put a new ones in, thats got about 130000 on it, as the original were faulty, beacause the car is not used all the time the original got knackered, its a auto, but i may consider changing it to a manual winkeye ,two minded as the car will only be used in hot weather, the cars never been outside or in the rain since we had it.,i dont really want to drive it fast any way its more of a cruiser thats why i prefer the auto thanks INDY :D

Anybody is welcome to give me a 635! 8)

I've always really liked these and that one does look very nice!

The BMW 5.0 litre V12 slots into the E24 nicely too! winkeye

Your dad must have seen the MAstercard advert. "Dad..." "YOU'RE FIRE..." (throws son keys to 635) "You're HIRED!!"

Lovely car, best of luck with her. What's the story with the wheels, never seen them before but the y look cool, especially the rear dish!

he was the first person to have them on his bm,in the uk when they came out,i think they are bbs splits and only seen them on a few cars now never on a 6,i think they are more than 10j at the back but i still have to check, need to get new tyres after i was finished playing with it anyway winkeye ,the kit on it is a mtec kit but made of fibreglass it had to be easy to take, beacause the car is so low it doesnt go up any drives, he kinder got sick of it sitting in the garage so he thought why not pass it down in the family,so it could be used, i was shocked when he said i could have it, he never let me stand near it when it was out of the garage, scared i was gonna scratch it or something 8O INDY

So are they just aftermarket jobs or BMW wheels? Look a little similar to Hartges in places. When the fron tis back on, that car will look sweet!

Lovely car, remind me of the days my dad had these, first a 633CSi, then the 635 pre update, then the a bronze metallic 635CSia (BMW's motorshow car) then a few more upto a Black M635CSi... absolutely loved that car. Was just before the Highline and I think was the best E24 :D

Yup these are cruisers all right - the surge when you slam your foot down at 70 is quite amazing

Re chuckability - get yourself some good gas shocks - you will be knocked out by the difference these make- k a long way from an E30 coupe but a huge improvement on the way it handles now

thats one of the new things that i might get done on it too as the shocks may be a bit tired from not beeing used all the time, just found out from my dad that its done less than a 500 milles in the 18 years he's had it, its only gone to the mot station then back into bed,but started every few weeks and given a bit of a run up the private road, hopefully we might drive it aroud more often now ive got it,after ive done all the stuff that needs doing to it winkeye INDY

Good looking car, shadowline and dechrome with Mtech kit. I doubt the wheels will be 10s at the back - they'll rub, they'll be 9s or maybe 9.5s I expect. Never seen those wheels before.

Since we're posting E24 pics, it'd be rude not to:-

3 m635s, 858 bhp, 18 cylinders, 12 BBS split rims, 10.23 litres, 6 chrome tail pipes, 3 M boot badges and one rusty sunroof:-

Lovely car mate, I got a soft spot for them. The only thing that puts me off them is the mpg. I was speaking to a guy at the Aces last time and his did 15-20 mpg, got any idea how much yours does??

The story of the 3 M cars together is here. The Lachs Highline is mine. The black car I had for sale earlier in the year and the blue early car belongs to a chap a few miles away.

The Highline and the E30 cab both get well used inthe summer months only. If it's dry and there's no salt on the roads, they'll get a wee blast in the winter. The Highline (as all M635s) is manual, the wee cab's an auto.

My tyres are 245/45 on 8s on the front and 265/40 on 9s on the back. MPG will average at about 17.

10J wheels on the back will cause problems depending on the et of the wheel, in most cases they dont fit.

indy, i think you need to get rid of the cloth arm chairs in the car for some leather sports seats. :D

phats, e24's do not compare to the e30 in any way, especially runing costs. the only similarity is they rust and were made in the 80's. seen many people pick up a cheap 6 thinking a few hundered quid will sort it out, but soon find out they will cost a few thousand to put right and they give up.

im not sure if they are 10j's,i think they are 9 or 9 and a half the numbers 265 at the rear and 235 up front, definattly changing the cloth seats for some leather sports,my mate has just broke his six and has some in his garage waiting for me winkeye ,i seen people do that buy a cheap 6 thinking they can fix it,cant then end up either braking it or sellin again, mines had a full resto about 10 years ago so the body is mint, needs a few mechanicals doing to it but a least i dont a have to worrie about ROT :D INDY
