Hi guys,
What possible problems will I encounter if I put the RCA's and power line down the same side of the car, from HU to amp in the boot.
Just that if I take the power cable down the other side it's not long enough.
And it's a cab .....

RCA cables next to power cable?

Ideally the power and signal cables should be kept at least 30cm apart
More if you can get it
In an ideal world the power cable would be down one side of the car and the signal cables down the other, but you can get away with it if using good quality triple screened signal cable and good quality power cable
There's not really any need to worry about the speaker cables TBH

Thanks Dave.
I have ordered another 5 metres of power cable ... guess I'll be undoing most of what I did yesterday !!
Better to get it right now than undo it all at a later date.
Just wondering now how to get the cable from the rear seat area into the boot on the other side of the car - it was bad enough when I did the one side 6 years ago.

use the holes in the rear of the seat there is a gap on the other sie just go from in the boot with a metal coat hanger as a trace wire mate

Considering Selling the Cabby, looks like its gonna go

That wouldn't be causing the alternator whine, if yo get that, you need to fit a surpressor (iirc)Alex wrote:dont have them together i did that and there was a rather anoying alternator whine
Interference from the cables would be more of a constant hum, but shouldn't be an issue in an average size install with decent cables.
