a new car! well old but new to me!
It's a 1990 H plate 316i lux with only 85000 on the clock! paid what i thought was a fair price of Ԛ£675
thought i'd let y'all know, it's my first BM and I only intend on keeping it a year but it's so so SO much different to a fiesta I dont think I will EVER have anything else! lol

engine pulls pretty well for a 1.6 think the back box is stuffed though, and it feels like a good un!
cant believe the difference from fiesta tho jesus wept, it picks up in 5th at 70mph!!

welcome to the 'zone, and prepare to only talk in words consisting of letters and numbers (e.g my m40 in the e30 would benifit from a BBTB and a different LSD-pref 3.91)

WELCOME. ah the first time you drive an e30.
ah the first wheel spin in an e30.
then before you know it every thing else just isn't right. other cars aren't the same.
you'll never be happy in a wrong wheel drive car again.

That looks a good'un, late Luxs all look smart
Re getting 50mpg, I'd say it's unlikely unless you sit on the motorway at 50mph all day long.
I've been seeing what economy I can get over the last 1500 miles or so (is interesting and saves the pennies so all good!
) and I've managed to average just over 40mpg - this is with mostly under 40mph (over this speed shoving a brick-shaped car through the air starts to get expensive) and not too much of sitting in traffic......so I'd say 40mpg is the upper limit if you're trying!
However having said all that my car hadn't been serviced for 15,000 miles (not my fault
) and had 185,000 miles on it when I started counting, plus the cam needs replacing as there's no power above 4,500rpm.....so maybe with a healthy engine you could do a lot better!
I have a late 316i by the way, the 1.4 ZX is just for while the BMW has MOT work done (it does 54mpg
)
