Oh I don't know, they're pretty lousy like main dealers are for everything. Stratstone is a trading name for Pendragon who are a renowned sack of sh*t the industry over. Main dealers are won or lost through the staff.
The one in Donny used to be Wheatley Hall and they were a bit crap even then. I went to buy a 323Ci Coupe there in 2002, and stood around like a spare fart for 20 minutes. So I pissed off and bought one somewhere else.
Main dealers are almost all owned by large groups, and profits are everything. An old car just doesn't enter the equation.

Generalisations? I think it was quite to the point. My car has been in twice over the past 2 weeks - it wasnt one experience. Quite simply they were sH*t. Lisa (one of the service counter girls) was very nice however but it just aint enough.

BMW Malton are fantastic, never had anything but great service from them even when asking for tiny E30 parts.

Stratstone are a totally different animal. For example, they list loads of nice looking cars on their website and on autotrader and if you turn up on a Saturday to have a look you get told by a fat suit called "Ian" that they were on the web by mistake and too cheap for a main dealer (£10k)
