Everyone has got their BTB's now.
I will be fitting one to my friends C2 2.7 this week.
You other guys get them on!
Please post up your opinions on:
1) Quaility of product
2) Value for money
3) Service M5Pilot gave
4) What your thoughts are after fitting
5) Would you recommend to others?
unstickied for one week 8/8/05, Ant

Mine arrived tuesday morning at 8:30 while I was still half asleep.
It was wrapped in a bit of bubble wrap which did'nt look much, but it was unscathed. The manifold looks like good quality, I haven't fitted it yet, but I don't see any problems assuming the old one comes off ok.
I had no problems dealing with Sal (M5 Pilot), I would order things again when funds allow.
It was a pretty good turn round considering they were hand built, just can't wait to get it on 'cos my C2 has a cast iron one fitted from new (it's a '91 model & I think they had problems with Alpina manifolds cracking).
Just one tip, don't ask someone who doesn't know what it is what it's worth, 'cos one numpty reckoned 20 quid.
Matt

I fitted the BTB to an Alpina C2 2.7 yesterday and took it for a test today.
The car also has a origional standard BMW exhaust on it.
The result.........absiolutely fantastic! I wasnt expecting these sort of noises to be made. It sounds like an E46 M3 at high rpms. You might think yeah right, Sals on tablets but Ikid you now. Ask the people at the lakeside meet.
The noise is totally awesome. Choas and Nemo expressed their viewss the most verbally and have asked for one for their track day car.
Power wise I was expecting not to feel it at all but its certainly felt on this car.
Who ever buys these manifolds will not be dissapointed, the fitting, construction is all top class and that NOISE!!!

For anyone who hasn't heard the sound, OR, know about these BTB systems, you are missing out on something !
Although I don't have one of these BTB systems (yet !), I will still say a BIG thanks to Sal for the demonstration, as well as the service he is providing to the Zone

hey my views on the btb,
1. absolutely amazing deal, price wise bargain,
2. i had a passenger drive in the c2, OMFG the thing is mental, a complete monster, the throttle response, the sound, the induciton noise is awesome on this car, to top it off he only running a standard 325i exhaust, i can imagine if he uses a scorpion i want i want on my 2,5,
we was booting it on the a406, this bloke and chick in there mini were cruising at a steady speed windows down music etc,
the c2 vrommmmmmmmm's past the mini the bloke in the mini shat his pants, he had his arm outside the door when we flew past he shat his load and put his arm inside so fast, his face expression was sooo funnnyyy, cracked me right up.... haha infact i can still see him hehe
i agree with sal, its does really sound like a e46 m3, infact i mentioned it to him while we was driving and he said "told you so" absolutely orgasimic.
the manifold on the car is a work of art, loook reallly good,
m5piliot service, highly recommend, top geezer, excellent service, the bloke talks straight form the heart
(no lovey duvey shit, only e30 hehe), wont mess you about!!
this is a perfect example of how every (well mine) e30 should be, but everybody has different expectations.
thanks again for a good day sal. long live the c2 with the BTB with the amazing induciton noise
.

Yep, it's a C2 2.7 '91 model, one of the last E30's built by Sytners. I'm hoping to get the manifold fitted this week & anyone is welcome to come & see it (& hear it).Thankyou for that!
You have a C2! .....2.7?
I think I need to come and see you when its all fitted!
It feels pretty quick with a cast iron manifold, I've surprised a few people with it so I can't wait to try the BTB one.

Matt,
your should sound just like the Alpina I am driving. I never heard the Alpina manifold making noises like this!
Get some pics up of your Alpina.

Drove back from work when it was a bit cooler.........damn that BMC is loud!
Sounds like a proper racing car now!
BMC has helped throttle response even more, makes a deep humming/growling noise.
Its a shame guys with AFM's cant fit them......unless I find a slightly dsifferent size.

When funds allow, I want to replace my scorpion system with something akin to the alpina one that should be fitted ( or a proper alpina one if affordable).
Do BTB do the rest of the exhaust or would a quicksilver mate up to the BTB manifold?

BTb can do something better than the Alpina one but no idea on price. Expect to pay around Ԛ£700.
BTB refuse to cut corners, they will only do things properly.

I've chickened out. I'm getting a local independant to fit mine on tuesday.
He's had a look at it and without telling him what it was, he reckons it's a top notch job, he should know as he used to prepare E30 rally cars with 6 branches.
I'll let you know next week when it's fitted.

Picked up the car this morning, I only managed to open it up once in the rush hour. What a noise! It can only be described as erm.. indescribable - you need to hear it. It has a deeper bass note at idle as well.
There was a slight problem fitting it as access is restricted with the air con, but it still fits ok and well worth it. I had new studs & nuts fitted as well.
Can't wait to go home tonight the long way round.

Mine has been fitted today along with my 3.91 LSD, the 6 branch sounds absolutely awesome!!
1) Handmade, obviously top quality!
2) At Ԛ£400 all in it was a good price, considering their usual retail price.
3) Good service from Sal kept everyone informed and goods arrived quickly.
4) I can see lots of petrol being used for a while..
5) Buy it!

You can't beat the sound of a good 6 branch manifold
The noise of the gasses running through the pipes is amazing, only problem is the drivers seat always gets moist.

Dont mean to be rude but your M3 parts can be sold in the for sale section. It has ntohing to do with the BTB 6 branch manifolds.
This is here for review purposes.
Good luck with the sale of your parts.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but is this manifold only available for the 2.7? Would it fit my 325i sport? Ԛ£400 sounds like a good price but how much is fitting approx? Cheers, Ollie

Ollie,
it fits all M20 engines so therefore it will fit your 325i.
The price is now Ԛ£450 simply because I have to buy them myself and cannot buy in the bulk of the group buy. Its still a sensible price.
Fitting is very straight forward and should not cost more than 3 hours labour.

Its surprising that only 7 zone members have bought this manifold so far. The rest have been taken buy people phoning in from the advert in bmwcarmagazine......and thats more than 7!
I only have a few left now so if anyone wants any.....you might have a very long wait.

A big thanks for sal
For meeting me and dropping me the btb manifold.
WOW, what more to say than what a quality manifold, obviously well made. A great service from Sal and couldn't recommend dealing with him enough. Just can't wait to fit it, hopefully within the next few days. Will let u know how it all goes.
Thanks again
