Simple alloy joiner would probably do
Just make sure it has a bead on both ends to prevent it popping off under pressure

I'm just beginning to realise that removing the heater and fitting non opening placcy windows isn't the words best idea.
I kid you not it is freezing in the winter and bloody hot in the summer.
You will need a heated windscreen too

I did this years ago on a track day Capri. It's not untill you've driven the thing on a cold, wet day with permanently misted up windows do you realise what a dumb idea it is. I ended up having to get anther heater matrix from the scrappers 'cause I'd binned the original!

Leave it in, every 10th you gain from the weight on a dry day you'll loose much more on wet day

hmm, may have to rethink this then. the majority say no.
its only going to be out in the summer so cold days wont be a problem. i can see misting up would be an issue but i was hoping a heated screen would solve the forward vision at least. maybe ill leave it in for a year after some tinkering to lose any excess weight from bits that dont matter and ill see how i feel next year.

Get some driving gloves and a scarf if your cold and dig out your grandads long johns!
Have you tried the Rain x anti mist wipes? I use them as well as the heated screen as a back up and when we were at Combe in 3 deg c with sleet I didnt even turn the screen on. Worth a try.......

jason, i did think about using a smaller one from something else but ive not looked into how much faffing it will be or if it would be worth it for the weight difference. dont get minis in my scrappy so it would probably be a 205 or clio effort.
shorty, i dont think ill need the long johns
it wont be out in the cold very often, well not what i call cold anyway. ill certainly look into the wipes for the side windows anyway.
dave, i thought about those wee leccy heaters too but was told they were not very good. 168 watts sounds ok though.

Put a heated front screen in if the demisting is your issue. It's what I did..............It doesnt stop the car from being freezing on a cold day and sweltering on a hot one though

Heater is also a useful extra radiator for very hot days, leave it in.
