Plenty of my friends will be at the ring this weekend. Something like 40 from Northloop going. It's going to be a busy one.

Hope you enjoy Spa. I did last year, thought it was a stunning circuit although one which demands big power

Shame the Tango mobile won't be there :( But yep it does like its going to be busy as the Nissan GTR OC have loads going too...

Agree re Spa as we did it last year too and we certainly got burned by some more powerful stuff going up from Eau Rouge, also some very fast, high G (for an e30 :) ) bends.... hence the baffle sump from zoner Alloyproducts now fitted (free plug).

Hi,

I did the same trip, saw your car at Spa and was hoping to speak to you but never did catch up. God the ring was busy! I took the Silver Jag XF which handled well but is no track day car. Can you give me any advice of what I should be looking for and how much I should be looking to spend? I have been advised that a 318is or 325 sport are the best options but have no idea of what to look for, how much they are worth etc. I am a complete newbie to E30's don't have loads of money to spend on a track day car (spent it all getting the XF) and just need pointing in the right direction.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

i was there this weekend and saw you waiting when the track was shut (again) down at the halfway entrance at brideschiede! (sp)

318iS or 325i are good cars for the ring, i'd have the 325i

Paul's car had to be fixed by the zone crew in the petrol station

Good to meet you Uwe! I was the guy in the silver touring who let you in on the roundabout by the main entrance when the track was shut on sunday!

Sunday was mental i've never seen it that busy and the pace round there also was the fastest i've seen

Hi,

You should have come over... we would have been more than happy to show you round and give you a pax lap or two... :?

There are plenty of extremely knowledgeable guys on here that know these cars much much better than me, so maybe worth starting a new thread in this section to elicit some feedback.

We have had two e30s so far, a mildly modded 325 (now owned by cheapaschips) and a more modded 327 and both have been great cars, reliable (this weekends 20 year old relay failure excepted :o: ) and plenty fast enough to be fun... although you always want more power you get more benefit per £Â£Ã‚£ from better handling and brakes.. IMHO
As for prices thats always an emotive subject and so I'll steer clear of that particular debate, but suffice to say you to tend to get what you pay for... as a starter have a look here :
http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/list.asp?s=119

Beware that some "track prepped" cars have merely had the trim ripped out and some heavy old bucket seat bolted in... but are advertised for more than a better looked after standard one ! :o

I'd thoroughly recommend one as a great track car...

Simon13, thanks for letting me in the queue and the HUGE tyre pressure gauge. shame it was so busy and we couldn't meet again for more petrol talk. My car was working really good and once I found the right tyres pressure it was a blast to drive. Back end of June (inofficial german e30m3 meeting, but not organised so may be a littlte bit poor attendance)

That HUGE pressure gauge was mines :D

Glad it all got sorted Paul, like i said to your friend its not a good idea to keep the relays in a plastic bag like that.

It just seemed to point to the relays and when Ant confirmed it didnt take him long to fix it!

If you want i can get you all the correct part numbers from covers and brackets etc?
