I replaced the drivers door a while back (4 door) with one from the breakers and it has never closed as easily as the original and does not sound as solid.
Does anyone have any tips for getting it spot on ? (without taking the dash out)
Hanging Doors ?

My father and I just did this yesterday! First I tried to see how the door lined up compred to the rest of the car when it was shut and just before it shut. It seemed to be a bit low just before it went shut. My father loosened the bolts on the hinges (top and bottom) while I held the door and then I lifted it up just a tiny bit and he retightened the bolts. That seemed to get it a bit better. Then we decided to undo the part of the catch on the body and see if we could move it but that just mad it worse and then we couldn't get it shut at all or get it back to where it was before. In the end we readjusted the door hinges somewhere in between the original position and the first one we tried, loosened the bits of the latch/catch thing on the door and on the body, sprayed it all with WD40, shut the door a few times with the catch part loosened to try to get it to line itself up, and then retightened it all. It seems to close ok now, and a lot better than before. Maybe not quite perfect, sounds not quite right when I open it, but I am happy anyway and seems to close easily.

Cheers
I know the lock can not be adjusted in the door but is it possible to adjust the striker (B piller) as the screws look like they are countersunk ?

Yes they are but if you hold it up very hard while you screw it back together you might get 1 or 2 mm out of it because the holes in the B pillar that it screws trhough aren't exactly the right size. Oh and it doesn't screw into the B pillar it has the part on the front and a part behind the B pillar that it screws into so don't take the screws all the way out or it might fall down and then you will have to take the rear trim off. I did this but I was taking the rear trim off anyway. Not sure how it works on a 4 door though.
